Thank you everyone! I had some strange sensations and more brown discharge which scared the sh$& out of me but my cervix is long and closed. So I feel pretty good about everything. Still a tiny bit worried but overall very relieved.

I think this it more common in second pregnancies. I'm 32 weeks with number 2 and I've often had BIG chunks of mucus come out. My doctor said as long as it's not bloody and there are no liquidy gushes along with it, it's nothing to worry about. So far, she's been right, no other issues have followed the big mucus discharges.

I lost mine twice in the second trimester. I flipped the first time. My doctor wasn't concerned either time as long as I wasn't having any contractions/other signs of labor. The last time was a couple of weeks after my anatomy scan where my cervix had measured fine. I'm 33 weeks now and no signs of labor yet, so it must have regenerated. I was told to drink a lot of water and to rest each time. Hope everything turns out okay. I know how terrifying it is.

I lost a mucous plug a couple of days after a CVS at 13 weeks, and when my OB checked, my cervix was still perfectly closed. I bet you are fine!

I'm not exactly sure what losing a mucus plug is like since I didn't have a full term baby. But I did have weird discharge before going into early labor. And I did feel off. Eventually I started bleeding, then contracting which was an obvious sign to go in, but my advice is to just take everything seriously. I've definitely read stories about people losing it and it growing back many times...so could be nothing, but don't brush off any concerns you have.

Good luck!

I lost my mucous plug tonight at 25 weeks and am freaking out. My doctor said she isn't "necessarily concerned" since there are no other symptoms, but that I should go in tomorrow to get my cervix measured. I had to skip an important work event tonight and am scrambling to get people to cover for me tomorrow. I also just feel off and so worried. My first was born at 37 weeks, and I had placenta issues with him. Not a terrible history but not great either. Ugh! Anyone else lose their mucus plug in the second trimester?
