She actually didn't sleep on her stomach the rest of the night. However, she was upset at one point but not totally awake with her eyes closed. I gave her her pacifier and turned her on her side. She fell right back asleep and slept 30 minutes longer than normal!

Um sure our pediatrician will be thrilled next week when I tell him our lo has been sleeping on her belly for two months. :-) It's going to be okay. It freaked me out for a while but now I worry more if she's on her back - she LOVES her belly! I had to just go with it. You may get less sleep for a couple of nights (weeks) but your lo may sleep better!

@MamaMoose: I thought about it but I know what he'd say. He'd tell me if she seems fine, puts herself in that position, and sleeps better, to just go to sleep and enjoy it!

What's funny is when I rolled her back over, she mirrored my reaction the past few nights when I had to get up the 6-7 times with her (sighs, general frustration).

I've always heard that if they are big enough/strong enough to get on the tummy by themselves it's totally fine to leave them there. Enjoy the sleep!!! And If you really need reassurance call your ped Monday morning : )

@bebefly: She woke up but it had been about 7.5 hours since she last nursed so I think she actually was hungry (and I may have encouraged the wake up on accident by putting her on her back a couple of times).

We've had a horrible few nights of sleep. I was hoping tonight would be better. And it is, in a way. She discovered around 11pm, after falling asleep at 8, that she can sleep on her side and tummy. And now I'm paranoid because I put her on her back and she rolls to at least her side instantly. Please convince me this is okay and to love it and sleep. She's slept so much better tonight and this might make nap training easier.

This is okay right? She's coming up on 5 months old in less than 10 days. She's super strong with head control, can roll great back to front, can roll okay front to back with some effort, does the pushup really well, and is starting to try to crawl (she can push herself backwards so far). I'm tired and delusional and probably sound crazy for not being asleep (two nights ago I got two hours of sleep). She's not going to let herself suffocate right? She still sleeps in a bassinet next to me so I'll hear her if she's struggling to roll over or something.
