My labor was 37 hours long, and I lost some at 39 weeks 6 days (the day before labor started/2 days before the baby was born). And then I lost the rest of it + bloody show about 12 hours into early labor. I think I was only 2cm dilated at that point. I thought surely when I lost it that it would mean I had dilated more (enough to be admitted and get an epidural???), but no dice, the hospital wouldn't admit me yet and had me keep walking.

I lost mine about 2 hours before my water broke.

Here's hoping your labor comes on soon!

Just wanted to update that I lost mine this morning. For me it was less plug-like and more like a very large quantity of EWCM that poured out of me with a little pink-tinged blood.

I lost my mucus plug 3 weeks before I went into labor so it was definitely not an indication that labor was coming soon.

I believe I lost my mucus plug while already in labor and my water broke at the same time! I sat down and felt something come out of me (and I hadn't seen it prior to this) so we changed my pants and headed for the hospital! I'd been having contractions for 14 hours at this point so we were ready. This was 2 days before DD and about 10 hours from birth!

I lost mine 1 or 2 days (it's hard to remember exactly) before labor. And it was totally obvious that it was a mucus plug. I had never seen one (in real life or pictures) and I just knew.

I never lost mine where I knew about it. No bloody show, no mucus plug, none of it. I was 80% effaced and 2 cm dilated for at least 3 weeks prior to going into labor.

@chopsuey119: Lol!

@sulli301: Wow. That's great that you were already more than halfway there before you even technically went into labor. Did you have a quick labor in the end, since you only had 5 cm and 25% effacement left to go?

I lost my mucus plug about a week before DD was born! It made me so impatient because I was dilated 5 cm & 75% effaced too, so I thought I would go into labor that day :? lol good luck!!! :)

I lost my mucus plug about a week before I went into labor. I stepped out of the shower and it was stuck to my inner thigh! Imagine my surprise when I saw it! It was super long and so pretty I made DH take a pic of it!

I'm 38 weeks, and eagerly awaiting baby's arrival at this point. At my last appointment I was 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced, so I keep looking to see if I'm going to lose my mucus plug as a sign that labor might be near. So far nada... But then I read online that you might not even notice when you lose your mucus plug. So, for the ladies who have already been there:
