We had same problem and doctor said it was eczema. Pediatrician recommended eucerin, but said it had to be in cream form because lotion is too thin for dry skin. Within two days of applying it, from head to toe, DD skin began feeling silky smooth.

We've been using Babyganics Bye-Bye Dry and it is amazing. I tried all sorts of stuff for my LO's face, arms, tummy and legs - but this was the best stuff by far!

Eucerin Original Healing. Best stuff ever. The ped to.d us to put cortisone on LOs ezcema, but I tried Eucerin instead and it works great! I even use it on my own ezcema and it works better than my steroid cream.

We tried Aquafor and it didn't work either, seemed to sit on top of the skin instead of absorbing into it. I have been using Eucerin and I really like that.

@banana: yes! We started using it on M after baths shortly after she was born. It's not a very allergenic substance. But I would reccomend fragrance free. Coconut oil.

Cetaphil is what was recommended by our pedi. Aquaphor doesn't actually add any moisture back into the skin, it just provides a barrier, which is probably why it didn't help.

@travelgirl1: @betsyboop: Ditto. My LO has dry skin and we use coconut oil on her (and for her hair and diaper changes). We keep it in little jars so depending on the room temperature it will be liquid or solid, but it melts on contact. No stains on clothing from us yet.

I have it in a jar and if I scoop a little onto my fingers it melts from body heat either on my fingers or once it touches A's skin. I honestly haven't noticed any on her clothes. I've just been sat here for half an hour using it to soften and comb off her cradle cap, which is strangely addictive :)

@travelgirl1: I've tried using coconut oil (on myself) in the past but found it was a pain to use because it was in solid form and hard to spread without warming up. Do you warm the bottle with warm water or something first? Also, do you find that the oil stains clothes? I've heard such wonderful things about coconut oil so I feel like I must be using it in the wrong way! Sorry, so many questions!
