Ours likes to tun on his lawn mower and just let it run... Its winter, he isnt mowing his lawn. They have grown kids so they know what it is to keep a sleeping baby asleep ;)</p> <p>Unfortunately, we live on a busy street right in front of a busy intersection stoplight so police/fire engine sirens, motorcycles, trucks, and loud stereos are a constant problem for us. I actually look more forward to winter because the motorcycles go away and the loud stereos get trapped behind closed windows. They party ALL the time, smoke weed in the garage and make a crap load of noise ALL THE TIME. We haven't gone over to say anything because they and almost everyone else on our street are original owners and know each other whereas the hubs and I just moved in two years ago. We don't want to make enemies when everyone has been so kind to us. It's so annoying...I once thought about calling the cops for noise disturbance. He was working nights. We lived in an apartment complex though so we could file a noise complaint. One thing we couldn't do anything about was the lawn service that came every week. Our downstairs neighbors are the loudest ever. The doors in all our flats automatically swing shut and there are doors everywhere (like a totally unnecessary one between the hall and the living room). Every time they go from one room to another they let the doors slam behind them. So all day (and late into the night) long *SLAM, SLAM, SLAM*!<br /> We've got all of our doors like that propped with door stops, so we don't have this issue in our house. It irritates me now, but when the baby comes I may actually go insane. All I know is I felt bad for our neighbors on either side and their napping kids all summer long when we did a lot of cement work and construction all summer long. If it makes you feel any better, I think mean thoughts do work because our nice, new cement already has a few cracks. :/ And know that people are thinking of their neighbors, but they someone have to get their projects done.
