After living here for a year things that I noticed, but weren't dealbreakers are now annoying. For instance our trashcan is under the sink and there isnt anyplace else in the kitchen to put a recycling bin. So I have piles of recyclables on my counter top waiting to go to to the bin in the garage. (Generally they have a budget of around $50k to have the TV crew renovate or a bit more than that to sell and look for a bigger/newer home...and usually there's a disappointment like instead of the cool new kitchen or extra bedroom they wanted, they have to have their basement insulated for that money.) </p> <p>If you had a choice, would you gut your home and stay where you are? Or would you move? </p> <p>As for me, I'd go for the renovations because it wouldn't take much for this to be the perfect house...a fence, new cabinets and backsplash, small details. But it would probably take so much more money to find a better house in a better neighborhood that it just isn't worth it! </p>
