I *love* our current daycare teachers. LO1's teachers are awesome - so caring and love reporting to me what latest imaginary play she's been up to that day. I was asked whether we'd gone to Santa Rosa recently (yes) because LO1 was playing "bus and babies" and they were driving there.

LO2's teachers are the same ones that LO1 had in the infant room and they are lovely. LO2 breaks into a big smile every time he sees them.

@MamaG: I love that they're sending you Ks artwork! Ours doesn't really do art with the tiniest baby so we've yet to get anything from our K.

@Smurfette: Ohhh, okay, gotcha. Yeah, my daycare does something similar. Each week has a theme and usually a letter to go with it and the different classes do different "lessons" to go with the theme. The toddlers are mostly just learning the letters, but each day they'll have an activity, a book, and a song that go with the theme or letter for the week. I hope you find something you like (or her current program gets better).

@Adira: Basically lesson plans, for even the infant room. We get a lesson plan each week to let the parents know what they are teaching this week. Like one week it was all farm animals and another zoo animals. How they are working on learning the ABC's, counting, etc. I don't want a glorified babysitter.

@Smurfette: What do you mean by education based?

Also, you totally live in an expensive area, so nothing's affordable. :(

@regberadaisy: haha, I was just thinking about how I had complained SOOOOOOO often about daycare and Xander's teachers when he was an infant, so I wanted to write a positive post because I don't have any of the same issues this time around!! (yet... knock on wood...)

@Smurfette: Ugh, that really sucks! Especially with how expensive that daycare is, you'd think they'd be going above and beyond for you. Hopefully if you DO end up switching R, it's to somewhere more affordable...?

@Happygal: @matador84: I always thought I'd be jealous if my kids loved their teachers and vice-versa, but in reality, it's AWESOME! You feel so much more comfortable leaving your kids with someone who you know loves them and will take good care of them.

K is at a different daycare than C was as an infant. It's so different. We also don't really get any pressure regarding her. And the really fun part her main teacher is really creative and we get some pretty awesome footprint art sent home on a weekly basis. I never received any of C's artwork from her old center.

Lately, I don't. They aren't impressing me at all lately. They both seem to lack motivation. We are going to look at a couple other places and look into switching her. Which I don't want to do.

Ours really go the extra mile. They dote on my kids and always fight over who gets them between the two rooms. They send me pictures of them while I'm at work, bring them snacks they know they like and would even feed them their own food (I don't ask them to do any of this, they just do it because they love my kids).

Glad you've turned a page with the daycare center!

We send our DD to a babysitter. I love how she loves our girl--picks her up and snuggles her and is gentle and kind. And I can see that our baby loves her, too. I didn't know how that would feel (would I feel left out or jealous?), but it's great.

When Xander was an infant, I found his daycare teachers really stressing me out. They were always telling me that he was hungry all the time and that my breast milk wasn't enough and that I needed to send more (I was already sending 5 oz bottles). They would constantly give him his extra bottle right before I'd pick him up and act like they were doing me a huge favor because "now you don't have to feed him!" (no, I just have to go home and pump instead... awesome).

With daycare turnaround being what it is, Logan has a whole new set of teachers and I LOVE them!!!! They've never asked me to send more milk and have never complained that Logan is hungry and that 5 oz bottles aren't enough. They'll even distract him at the end of the day rather than giving him the extra bottle because they know I'll be there soon and that I'd rather nurse him than have him get the extra bottle. They've never pressured me to start solids or send more milk. I love them so much! <3

Why do you love your daycare teachers?
