We've had an A&A blankie in his crib since he was 4 months old, but he never cared about it. In the last few months he's become really attached to a stuffed fox and raccoon that he has, he goes back and forth about which he loves better. I thought they'd be easily replaceable if needed because they're Jelly Cat but they don't seem to make them anymore, I can only find them on eBay for $100.

We started leaving one in his crib at 4 months old. Took about a month before he paid attention to it. It was a two-pack of these guys:

http://www.amazon.com/Blankets-Beyond-Grey-Plush-Bear/dp/B00DBL5W7G/ref=sr_1_8_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1459453001&sr=8-8&keywords=bear+lovey

He started sucking and chewing on a corner of it to fall asleep (it started doing it when he started teething), so we needed more than 2 so we could keep a clean/dry one in rotation - but they got discontinued! We bought a 2-pack of Angel Dears, which he took, but they are a thinner material - not as wooly as the Nunu bear - so he didn't seem to enjoy chewing on them as much. Eventually my mom made small washcloth sized blankets out of thick wooly fleece and DS decided he liked those because they had four big corners to chew/suck on and after that my mom made like 20 of them to have on hand.

It started with the A&A security blankets for both boys. The older one (3.5) takes little figurines to bed with him but no more blankets. My youngest one (22 months) is an A&A blanket addict, he squeals with delight when he sees them.

Around 8 months my LO was obsessed with her tube of diaper paste, so I let her take it to bed one night. Suddenly the separation anxiety screaming we'd had the few prior nights disappeared. Now at almost 9 months I've convinced her to take a small plush rattle to bed instead of the tube, so I don't think she's particularly attached to anything yet but is starting to like having something in the crib with her. We'll see what she ends up picking!

DD1 chose her own around 17 months. It's a little stuffed dog that we can't find duplicates of ANYWHERE. Thankfully we've got two, but that's it!

We introduced one to DD2 around 15 months - it's a stuffed penguin we made sure was available and plentiful, so we can order further replacements as needed. In the past few months (around 20 months), she's become very attached to one of her blankets as well - probably more so than the penguin. We only have one of those, but it's PBKids, so i assume we could get another if we had to.

My lovey was a stuffed raccoon given to me by my older sister's then boyfriend, now husband, for Christmas when I was 1.5. I puked all over it when I was a preschooler, and my mom had to toss it after it pretty much dissolved in the dryer.

Maybe around 6ish months? I threw a stuffed animal in her crib one night and she became very attached to it! It's awesome.

Both kids slept with A&A blankets since they were babies. They grew attached to them sometime around 10-12m.

Xander became attached to his teddy bear at 18m though, so I'm curious if Logan will too or not.

I think past 6 months... I don't remember!

I just remember kinda putting it on her during every nursing session and since we cosleep it's just in bed with us. At some point she started really using it to self soothe and at 15 mo completely obsessed with "blankie".

At what age did you introduce a lovey? What was it?

With LO one my MIL just started giving him a blanket when he was around 1 and he's loved it ever since (just for bedtimes) .

Just for fun- when I was little I had a tiny pillow :)
