@laurel: thanks for sharing your info. My mom (a nurse) and her nurse BFF told me the same thing about baby might not have peed yet etc. I've increased my H2O intake, and will be getting another U/S in 3 weeks to check the levels again.

I had an issue with low amniotic fluid, but only at the very end of my pregnancy (at about 36 weeks). My doctor suggested upping my water/liquid intake as much as possible and trying to stay off my feet a bit more. I made it to 38 weeks, but did have to be induced because the numbers continued to drop. I would also suggest that they measure the fluid at least two or three before making any determination, as so much depends on your and the baby's positions, whether the baby has recently urinated (weird i know, but if the baby has urinated recently there is more fluid in the womb), and the skills of the ultrasound tech.

@runsyellowlites: after my first page of google reading, I quickly left that site.... making myself crazy!
I'm glad to hear that everyone turned out fine. It's silly how worried we let ourselves get over every thing.

I know that for my u/s prep they said to drink lots of water on the days leading up to the u/s to help with that. Idk if that REALLY helps but you could look into it.

The only semi experience I have with low fluid is my midwife had a momma with low fluid.... they tried for her natural homebirth but ended up having to transfer. Baby and momma were fine though. =)

Try not to google too much. I'm sure everything will be fine =)

Just came back from my monthly OB appt and when she was reading my antomy scan data, they noted that I had low amniotic fluid levels. Just barely below normal, but it was enough that I'll be getting another ultrasound to track the progress. I made the fatal error of googling what that meant....... bad idea. Now I'm trying to not freak out. Anyone had any expierence with this?
