I just wanted to update this thread in case anyone uses it as a reference in the future (I found all the reassuring low papp-a threads on the board very helpful!). My low papp-a numbers caused no issues at all during the pregnancy, and my daughter was born at 39 weeks 3 days, very healthy and a nice size (7 pounds 12 ounces).

I did end up taking the baby aspirin and stopped at 36 weeks. Of course, there's no way to know if that actually made a difference, but I had a healthy placenta and no complications.

I was on low dose aspirin and Lovenox shots for a clotting disorder starting at 5 weeks last time. I firmly believe it's the reason my daughter is here today.

I'm on low dose aspirin for this pregnancy. My RE suggested it after multiple losses and because my bloodwork showed a blood clotting problem. I've been on it since from before conception and will stop at 35 weeks.

I went through IVF and was on low-dose aspirin through 10 weeks! I know someone else who took it their whole pregnancy. I think that it is pretty standard and perfectly safe.

I'll just think of it as a vitamin, that will make me feel better...

@Mrs. Pickles: @WinterBee: I had pre-e with my first and TTC #2 now. My doctor mentioned this to me at my last yearly exam but I'm unsure how early to start taking it - did you start as soon as you got a BFP or wait until your first doctor visit?

I know the theory has to do with placenta development so it seems like you'd want to start ASAP?

I had three MC in a row. My doc suggest low dose aspirin until 33 weeks in case there was a clotting disorder. (as well as progesterone). It worked for my DD so we'll do it again for the next.

I had PCOS and DOR and went through IVF but I took low dose aspirin, I think until 8 weeks. Taking pills became really hard around 6-12 weeks because I had HG.

@Beehive: I'm taking a daily low dose aspirin because I have PCOS and am overweight so my doctor recommended it to help keep my blood pressure down and help prevent preeclampsia. Every medical professional I've talked to seems to agree with it and I have no problem taking it daily.

I had preeclampsia with my first pregnancy and had to be induced, 36 hour labor then emergency C-section. (my experience is nothing compared to some but it was difficult)

with my second I was very wary and afraid of preeclampsia again so my doctor monitored me regularly and I took a calcium supplement and baby aspirin even thought it hasn't fully been proven to help. no pre-e and significantly less swelling

I have the same thing and I will be taking a baby aspirin daily.

I equate it to if I have a headache everyday and just need to take a Tylenol for it or something....

Also, with my last pregnancy, I had gestational diabetes and ended up on glyburide too, so I'm not totally opposed to taken medication during pregnancy as long as approved by OB.

Has anyone taken low-dose aspirin during pregnancy? I had low Papp-A numbers during my first trimester blood screen, and the doctors said taking a baby aspirin each day could possibly help avert potential complications, but it hasn't been entirely proven (they essentially left the decision up to me).

I'm torn on what to do - ideally I wouldn't take a medication during pregnancy, especially if it might not help with anything, but if it might help I would want to take it. Very eager to hear other people's experiences with this!
