Make sure you check the change on a breast fed chart. It is VERY common for breast fed babies to slow at 4 months.

My son was born in the 1st percentile and at 7.5 months is pretty much still there (born 5 lb 5 oz and now about 15 lbs). He's 20th for height and head though. My ped has never really been concerned bc hubs and I are small and he's had good growth.

We started solids at 4 months - just rice cereal at first and then tastes of purees. We did it more becuase he was interested and it tends to help with reflux (which my son had). He loved them so we've steadily increased. He does like avacado and has that a few times a week, but mostly has just purees. Our dr at one point talked about fortifying solids with olive oil if he wasn't gaining well, but he's gained plenty (2 lbs a month the first 2 months and a pound a month since).

We started practicing with avocado around 4.5 months. We just did one time per day sometimes not even every day. It was around 6 months that she really learned how to eat and actually get food in.

We started when LO was 6 months old. LO is in the 5th percentile for weight and 25th percentile for height and head size.

We just went to LO's 4 month well check and she dropped from the 15th percentile of weight down to the 5th. Our pedi isn't *too* concerned (based on mine and DH's body types, its expected that LO is going to be on the skinnier side) but she did say that I should try to get an extra nursing session in and to start solids as soon as LO looks ready. Our pedi suggested avocado because its pretty high calorie.

If you have a petite baby, when did you start solids and what were your first foods?
