@MrsH: holy cow, lucky mama!

@citymouse: I think lots of babies have a 'witching hour' around dinner time that they *won't* sleep; which would fit into that frame. The only other thing I can offer that is maybe helpful, and took me MANY months to come to terms with, is that even if you are a schedule person, your baby might not be. I tried so many different things, schedule attempts, etc. (although I did not do anything resembling sleep training until 5.5m) and honestly all it did was stress both of us out. Hope your baby is more manage-able though :)

@daniellemybelle: I guess thats what Im worried about, that last long stretch!

@MrsH: Oh gosh, that is rough! But awesome that she STTN! Hopefully thats a habit starting!!

@matador84: Ill have to look at Moms on Call. Its all so confusing: optimal awake time, optimal nap times, how much day time sleep, how much night time sleep, and on and on! :-(

The moms on call book really helped me figure out a schedule for my Lo's. At that age, I always fed by 7. I roughly fed at 10, 12,3,6 and tanked the baby up at 9 for the night. There was usually a feed at 12 but LO could stretch to 3-4 am occasionally. In between feeds we did tummy time, played, etc. no naps longer than 2 hours.

If it makes you feel better E is 7 weeks old and only had a morning nap and two ten minute naps :( we are trying to do easy but she has not wanted to nap lately. On the pluses side she did STTN the last two nights.

At 6 weeks I was just trying to do a rough EASY. She would eat when she woke up, stay awake about 1 hr, and then sleep. There was no true schedule because sometimes she slept 30 minutes & sometimes 3 hours. At that age we did an evening nap still & a later bedtime. Trying to keep her up longer before bed was disastrous.

I have made my head start to spin trying to figure out a good schedule for DS. We are definitely schedule people, especially since I am now dealing with PPA/D.

DS:
6 Weeks Old
Over 9 Lbs.
Formula Fed

I was looking at @Mrs. High Heels: post (http://www.hellobee.com/2012/09/26/sleep-training-noelle-part-i/) about sleep training Noelle, and it looks like that schedule is what we are shooting for, except an additional night feed until he is a bit older. My question though is about the last nap... Does that schedule mean that he should be awake from 4-6:30? Thats way too long right? I've read that at least 4 naps a day at this age is ideal. But have also read about stopping naps at 5 PM so as not to interrupt bed time. How do you get in those 4 naps, stop naps by 5 PM, AND only keep them awake for about 1 hour????

Please help!
