@mrskc: @Smurfette: Yes 10 times is a minimum for him to remember something, it gets a little old! I showed him last night how to program reminders into his phone.

He switched around his schedule after I told him he was in charge of fixing the mix up! ha

I feel like I have to tell DH ten times about everything little thing. I am going away for the weekend in November with girlfriends and I am reminding him every week he has to make sure he is home on Friday and will have to pick her up from day care. I know he is going to forget.

Honestly I would tell him he either needs to take off (maybe cover the office via phone) or he needs to call the doctor and reschedule and fix the mistake.

@LuLu Mom: Yes! It used to drive me insane, but over the years I've accepted it, and we (read: I) can even joke about it now. DH calls me "Primary Parent."

I totally get it. I'm always the one who has to rearrange and reschedule. :(

I hear ya. DH is a great dad and takes off early from work to pick DD up from daycare 3x a week, but I'm the one that has to do the last minute doctor's appointments, etc. He would also have no idea if we needed more diapers, etc. It does frustrate me that the majority of baby responsibilities falls on me, but I try to remind myself that he takes the lead on a lot of other stuff (our finances, doing the dishes, etc.)

Oh no sorry perhaps your DH forgot to block his calendar as out office earlier so co-worker mistakenly thought he was available? Could he get someone else to cover or maybe be remote/available on phone if need be?

That's so annoying. Even though my DH is great and contributes so much I still feel like I'm the one who has to remember everything and be ultimately responsible for most things while he gets to play. So frustrating :( I'd be pissed too.

Ugh! I hear ya.

As a SAHM this is my biggest fear, that I'm going to need some help but DH can't because of work (even though family should come first, right? I can hear his response "well how am I suppose to put food on the table?!"). I am so afraid of getting too sick to watch the kids but DH not coming home early or staying home to begin with and I'm stuck with the kids all day while being sick.

Ugh! How annoying. I would try and reschedule the doctor's appointment.

I have this problem with DH too. I'll tell him something what feels like a million times and he'll still ask me about something and I'm like "ummm I told you this 10 times already!" What is it with men? They don't listen.

@BabyBoecksMom: All he had to do was leave 3 hours early, he's the manager so he has senority but he told the other guy he could leave (he's going with his kid to visit a college) but I'm just frustated that he's leaving it up to me. It's not a meeting I can reschedule last minute, not at all.

We have LO's one year checkup tomorrow, I have a meeting so I'm not able to leave work until right before the appointment (no time to do daycare pick up, check in, paperwork) DH assured me it woud be fine and he would do it and I would just meet him at the doctor's office. I just called him to remind him about tomorrow again (so he could tell his office) and he informed me "that's not going to work, XYZ is out of the office & he has to cover."

Um...NO. I told him weeks if not a month ago to mark this date down, why should I have to be the one to reschedule?? I'm frustrated.

Anyone else feel like being the mom means the majority of the parenting responsiblities when it's not necessary fair?
