@LindsayInNYC: Haha - it's about to come to that! I told him if he doesn't stop spending so much on food, I'm going to match what he spends to buy stuff for me!

@swurlygurl: I'd take his wallet then, LOL! There's gotta be a middle ground - tell him he needs to work with you! You can't guess what he wants to eat!

@KJfromNJ: I was going to suggest meatballs! DH and I make them together every few weeks, we do over 6lbs of various ground meats and make a huge batch of meatballs. We freeze them and DH pulls them out to make wraps, tacos, puts them on salad, rice pasta. We used the for DD all the time too.

@swurlygurl: We make homemade pizza about once a week and eat that for lunches too. Either we will make 2 pies and save 1 or I have recently started making mini calzones with canned biscuits. You roll out the biscuit some and put your toppings in and then fold it up. They are really good and filling and you can get a lot in there. They reheat really well.

You girls are AWESOME!

@LindsayInNYC: @blackbird: I tried that - but then he just goes out and buys lunch. Ridiculous.

@T.H.O.U.: @LuLu Mom: Casseroles are a GREAT idea!! I'm excited - that will be so much easier on me...

@LaughLines: Good idea with the slow cooker! I need to start doing that for dinners too - off to Pinterest to get inspired!

@KJfromNJ: Meatballs - perfect! He's been bored with regular spaghetti leftovers!

Whatever we eat for dinner goes in the lunches! We hardly ever take sandwiches. Last night we had taco pizza and I made lots of taco meat....so we could have burritos or tostadas or I can have taco salad later this week. Whenever I make a meat, i always make lots of it because it buys me time in the kitchen later on!

I'm of the "If you don't like what i make you, make it yourself" mindset, though :)

Or you can do meat- like Chinese food style chicken or beef, or even slow-cooker meat treated with an asian-style sauce- over rice? Not sure if that would work :)

I have one of these husbands as well, I will make a couple different casseroles and put them in individual portions in the freezer and he takes those and microwaves them. Tacos are also huge (chicken, beef, steak) and he will make nachos as well.

What about pasta? You can add meatballs or sausage to make it heartier.

We do made ahead quesadillas and then just pop them in the microwave at work. They are really good.

Also, what about a casserole that you could send portioned out?

can you make something in the slow cooker on sunday to let him eat as lunches all week? I have a picky husband, and when he doesn't like ideas I have for him, I make him pick. Maybe let him dig through a recipe box or scroll through pinterest and have him decide (though you get veto power if it's too time consuming to make, don't have the ingredients, etc).

DH drives me crazy sometimes... he wants me to pack a lunch for him, but he hates soup, salad and sandwiches - the three easiest lunches!
Any suggestions on what I can make him for lunches?
We don't have leftovers too often, and I usually prefer to have them for dinner the next night than to cook again.

I send shredded chicken for tacos, and pulled pork for bbq sandwiches, but need some new ideas.
