FWIW, I had been taking a Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc supplement while TTC, and I didn't have bad ms, only some nausea, even with twins. Mag is critical for the absorption of Calcium, so it's important to make sure you're getting it anyway.

I took mag while I was pregnant but not for ms... I took it in late pregnancy to help control my bp. That's definitely something I'm going to note for next go round though!

I'm not taking a magnesium supplement (32 weeks pregnant) and it was never mentioned to me by my doctor even though I had horrible, horrible, nightmarish morning sickness. It would be interesting to see if it really works. I was willing to try just about anything.

I really enjoy reading the Mommypotamus blog for its information on nutrition. She recently wrote a post on morning sickness that offers another potential source of morning sickness: magnesium deficiency!

http://www.mommypotamus.com/the-real-cause-of-morning-sickness/

Unfortunately it seems like a magnesium supplement would mostly help if taken before getting pregnant...so TTC ladies, who wants to try this out?

Are you taking a magnesium supplement while pregnant? My midwives suggested it, but I hadn't felt motivated to order any until reading that blog post!
