I agree about using the doctor as an excuse - I think that's the best way to handle it.

@Crumbs: Lol, if he is on the boards I will have nothing interesting to contribute (his late circumcision, his insane mother, his drinking)

@anonysquire: I almost LOLed (literally) and would have woken LO up!

I agree with Mrsbells, tell her your doctor gave specific instructions to not clean it yet and make it seem like the doctor made a big deal about it.

I plan to play the doctor card for everything. "The doctor told us to absolutely not pull back the foreskin and clean under it, so if you could make sure to leave it alone, that would be great."

I don't have any advice but my DH went through the same thing! But at 15 he had to get circumcised. He said it was horrible.

I would just say that this is the advice the doctor gave you, without mentioning anything about your DH

I would assume she will babysit maybe once or twice a month once he is taking a bottle.... Other than that she would probably see him when I am around so I would surely handle any diapering duties.

How's that for a catchy title ;) Anyway, my husband was not circumcised as a baby but had to be around 4 years old due to scar tissue. We now know that it is not recommended that a baby's foreskin be pulled back and cleaned. This is something my MIL did 25 years ago and my husband unfortunately had problems because of it. My MIL doesn't recognize that the problems were caused by pulling the foreskin back too early. My son is not circumcised and I do not want her to try to clean under his foreskin when changing him, but she is very much a know it all. How do I tell her to back off without blaming her for my husband needing surgery...I don't think that would go over well...
