@edelweiss: yea i think my DS is stimulated by all the action and noise at daycare...his crib was close to all the action and i asked them to move him further away (which they were able to accomodate)... i think that helped a *little* bit...

i wish we (as adults) could get naptimes too...lol

@butterbean: i've asked them to try putting him down at 10am and 1pm, but i don't think it's been working out. i think it's just too loud and he is easily stimulated. an hour of naps at daycare is a good day for us. very often i pick him up and he's had 30 minutes of napping the entire day. kills me.

this is exactly what happens with us. sometimes he sleeps for 1.5 hours total (including car ride and time at home in car seat), then he's up for 30 minutes before i put him to bed!

This used to happen every day so I would have no time with her after work because she would take her car nap and then go right back to sleep after eating dinner and getting a bath.

R falls asleep usually every day on the way home. Sometimes just for the last 10 mins or some times the whole 30 mins. She usually always wakes up right away when I take the seat out or will wake up within 10 mins of being home. We have an hour together at most before I nurse and she goes to bed. And we do bath and book in that hour.

@Adira: they usually put him down for 3 (even if they are all catnaps) so i was pretty surprised to see they put him down for 1 nap...yesterday i made a comment about his 1 nap to his teacher and she said she will put him down for 2 naps...

*sigh* the joys of parenting

@butterbean: Only one nap???? That sucks! Xander always has at least two at daycare, but he NEEDS 3! Hopefully once you ask them to put him down for two naps, it works out better for you!

@Adira: yea same here...although i'm going to ask them to make an effort to put him down for at least 2 naps (even if he doesn't look tired)... yesterday, he only had one nap (in the morning) and i almost had a heart attack!

@butterbean: No, I haven't told them when to put him down for naps, because he tends to be all over the place. Plus he won't always go down easily for a nap, so they kind of just let him set his own schedule for now. He often just wants to be out where the action is and then will just pass out wherever he is if he's tired.

@Adira: there have been times where I picked him up and he just woke up from a nap (i get really excited!)...and then when i check his daily sheet to find out that his nap was for 15 minutes, i know i have to put him down for a nap when we get home; otherwise we'll get one fussy baby

do you tell your daycare the ideal times Xander should go down for naps?

@butterbean: Yeah, usually after Xander wakes up from his nap after daycare, it's time to nurse him, then bath, then bed, so no playtime. :( I much prefer it when he takes a nap at daycare right before I pick him up! That's the best! But it doesn't usually happen.

@Adira: lol...we only get an hour to play with him from the time he wakes up from his catch-up nap and the time we have to get him ready for bedtime.

Yes! ALL THE TIME!!! It's so annoying - I wish he'd just nap at daycare so I could play with him once he gets home, but often he'll fall asleep in the car OR I have to put him down for a nap as soon as we get home because otherwise he won't make it to bedtime.

my DS doesn't exactly take the best naps in daycare and when i pick him up, he usually passes out in the drive home. when we get home, he's still asleep in the carseat. i leave him in the carseat (in the floor of our living room) cuz i don't have the heart to wake him up since i know he is probably exhausted...

do you try to make up naps if your LO didn't have good naps in daycare?
