@Portboston: One of the pediatric nurses noticed right after his birth, so we had them clipped when he was 8 days old. I didn't see an immediate change in nursing. I honestly don't think things changed until his mouth got bigger. Before then, his latch was so shallow, I could feel him chomping. Thinhe have gotten much better, hope they do for you, too!

DS is about a month old this week. Things have been ok. My recovery has been great but feeding has been rough. He had a tongue & lip tie nobody caught until last week. We just got it released today so it's going to take some time to perfect our nursing.
@simplyfelicity: at what age did your guy get his ties released? I'm curious his long it will take us to get to a "normal" nursing relationship.

DD is 6 weeks old and we're doing great! She sleeps a 5 hour stretch and then I feed her every 2-3 hours throughout the day. Big sister is really sweet towards her but has been throwing lots of bad tantrums with us. My toddler is the one that's a handful and my newborn is easy!

Our little one is almost 6 weeks and colicky. I can't believe it, because our first had colic. Its was awful. Our pediatrician joked that this one was going to be super easy going because we had it so rough with our first. Imagine the surprise when we got another!! Its been so hard because it takes so much energy and we have no patience for our sweet toddler. Trying not to miss out on the moments, but at the same time desperately waiting for the 12 week mark.

Not sure my guy is considered a newborn still but he is 6 weeks old (almost 7.)

Feeding has been a huge stress because he was born with a tongue and lip tie and, even though he got them clipped, his mouth was very limited. I also have large breasts... after a LOT of research, ep-ing, LCs...it just started getting less and less painful. Now, I almost feel like we have a "normal" breastfeeding relationship...I had given up hope of that.
Anyway, DH went back to work after being off for 6 weeks and I don't go back until January. Just trying to enjoy this time because I know it will go by so fast.

LO is almost 2 weeks old and things are going well. My csection recovery has been harder this time (3rd) but I am starting to feel normal again. She was born at 36 weeks and very sleepy so things haven't been too crazy yet. Her big sisters adore her and they can't wait until she can talk and walk..haha.
My milk came in on the 6th day but my supply has picked up and I am freezing extra milk.

Awesome thread!

I is 2 weeks old and we're doing great so far. I've had an easy recovery from labor and enjoying wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes again. My toddler has adapted so well to being a big sister, feeling some guilt that her and I haven't had any decent one on one time since her sister was born though. I is a fantastic feeder and is already sleeping 5-6 hour stretches at night.

Great thread idea!

T turned four weeks old today and is doing great, a right little bruiser though, I can't believe how chunky he is! He is -touch wood - very chill, although he is started to get a bit of a witching hour. Breastfeeding is going well although still a bit painful. C-section recovery was much harder this time around, but now I feel fine. Big sister loves him but has really started to test our authority, not in a nasty way, more in a giggling, being naughty is so much fun kind of way. So that is tough, but hopefully it's just a phase.

I know there have been a boom of HB summer babies and soon to be babies so I thought it'd be fun to have a chat thread for those of us in survival mode!

Ds2 is just over a month old and we are in a good routine! Pp recovery has been amazing this time! But, alas the exhaustion of short cycles of sleep seems to be catching up with me this week!

How old is your newborn? How are you both doing?
