Landmarc is fantastic for brunch. NYC is very baby friendly. I take DD everywhere with me. I took her to Ippudo and Hakkasaan last week. I think as long as you use and umbrella stroller you will be fine. Have a blast!

@shopaholic: I don't have specific recommendations since I don't venture into Manhatten a ton. But when LO was younger we brought our strollers into all the restaurants! Haha no matter how tight. We make it work. Some smaller ones would just ask us to fold up the strollers and set them elsewhere if LO wasn't asleep. We have always taken LO to eat with us everywhere we went when we visit home!

P.S. check triple d!!

I lived in the same neighborhood as Taza and moved out when our DDs were 4 and 1 yo. Taking a stroller around to restos and the subway, single or double, wasn't ever really a problem, but we lived there and maybe were more used to things than tourists. Taking an umbrella stroller and packing lightly is your best bet though. With two kids, we still didn't stray from going to some of the restos you mentioned in your original post... We've been to Ippudo and Momofuku with the kids... Also some other places like Asiate and ABC Kitchen...We just had to plan to eat early before the crowds :)

Momofuku Milk Bar is also more casual and most of their locations have savory items as well as sweet items.

If you go to CMOM, you can also go across the street to Cafe Lalo which was in the movie You've Got Mail. They don't allow strollers at all though, so just leave it at the check-in at CMOM and go back for it after you've had your coffee and dessert.

Another place not mentioned yet is a resto in the Time Warner Center called Landmarc. It's a big resto that's great for adults and kids... Gorgeous views of Central Park and good food too, that's not too pricey. They have a kids menu, high chairs, boosters, crayons... Desserts are yummy also (we usually got the "one of each" option). During weekend brunch, you'll see all the strollers parked outside. It's right next to Bouchon Bakery as well, which has a casual sit-down area that's more kid-friendly than their slightly more formal dining area.

Lastly, pretty much any pizza place is pretty kid friendly! Of course there are some better than others. I usually recommend John's Pizza in the Theater District to families/tourists. It's in a big, gorgeous space that used to be a church. You can see them make your pizza in coal ovens, and it's yummy! Walkable to Times Square and their big Toys R Us too... You can go in the Ferris wheel, visit their ice cream shop downstairs, play/look at all the toys, and also stock up on any baby items you might need at BRU.

Have fun! We are planning a visit back later this year too and can't wait!

Yay, so excited you'll be in NYC! I also think you would love Brooklyn Bridge Park and Shmorgasburg. It's such a lively scene, the food is delicious, and it's very baby friendly.

Central Park is also tons of fun in the nice weather. If you wander around the park in the afternoon, you'll come across some fun street acts for kids, like a guy blowing enormous bubbles that they can chase. And of course, from Central Park you can easily walk to Madison Avenue which has fancy shopping.

Aside from the previously mentioned Children's Museums, the NYC Transit Museum is in Brooklyn and its great for kids.

If you're going to be on the UWS, the Children's Museum is amazing (and you can see our apartment building from there so stop by and say hi, haha)!

Almost any restaurant will accommodate a stroller, whether they have a place to put them or have you leave it outside.

I thought that list of restaurants looked good, although I would not do The Smith, personally, but I do like Jacobs Pickles, Luke's Lobster and Sarabeths (all these places are within two blocks of us, haha).

I also like Ditch Plains, Spring Natural Kitchen and Cotta.

I think the UWS is a great place to come to with kids, there's so many great kids shops, cafés, playgrounds and just children everywhere!

@bunnylove08: yes! I was just going to post those things.

Brooklyn Bridge park is AMAZING. There are like 5 different playground, and a water lab (basically a mini water park). It's also awesome to walk down--it's kind of like a really really big spread out version of the highline, IMO--you have some of the same industrial garden feel but it's bigger and an actual park, so you don't feel like you're walking on a moving sidewalk (which is how I feel at the highline because it's always so crowded!). Smorgasburg on Sundays is great, as is Jane's carousel and the promenade. Tons to do in Brooklyn alone, although I"m sure you'll spend most of your time in Manhattan :)

@shopaholic: where are you guys staying? Most places either have stroller parking out front/on the side, or you fold up your stroller when you go in. If they're empty they might let you keep it open inside!

Honestly, most of the UWS and UES are baby friendly because there are sooo many babies around there! so you're pretty safe where ever you go there. My faves from the UWS are the cafe at fairway (random but the food is really good; there are stairs going up so not stroller friendly); levain; cafe frida; atlantic grill, and sushi of gari.

This list might have some good ideas too!

Jacob's Pickle is amazing. The restaurant is fairly large but most NYC restaurants will make you fold up your strollers and they will put it off to the side.

Sarabeth - I thought it was okay. There was a really long wait for brunch during the weekend and I didn't feel it was worth the wait. If you want to go some where really cute for brunch you should go to Alice's tea cup. The place gets packed but they have three locations.

We went when DS was 10 months. We had no issues finding highchairs or anything. We did use our smaller umbrella stroller and would fold it up and put it in a corner or something of the restaurants. The biggest issue was finding a changing table. There weren't many in restaurants but I had luck finding them in bigger stores.

I know there are quite a few NYC bees here, so I thought I'd ask for some baby & toddler-friendly places to eat? My sister, niece, LO, and I, will be staying in the city for a couple of days before our husbands join us to travel to a New Jersey wedding.

I was a total foodie before, and last trip loved dining at Ippudo, Eataly, ABC Kitchen, Freeman's, and Momofuku. This trip, I imagine it will be harder toting around a toddler and a 9 month old?

Any recommendations? I know we'll do Shake Shack. Do restaurants let you bring in the strollers (and where would they even fit?!) Any other tips greatly appreciated!

ETA: I saw Taza's recent post: http://lovetaza.com/2014/05/tazas-new-york-city-guide-upper-west-side-morningside-heights/ - Any insights on these places? I always see her posts pushing around a Bugaboo Donkey, so they should be able to fit strollers?
