Pisa. Make sure you bring either the car adapter or battery pack. You never know. And extra membranes. I was traveling and an unknowing family member threw mine away. Those suckers are a beast to find when you need them.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! Sounds like I should just bring the PISA. I'm pretty sure I'll want to pump at least a few times.

If you are pretty sure you're going to pump, definitely bring the PISA. If you think there's a chance you won't need to pump at all, I say skip it and just nurse LO.

I really regretted not bringing my double electric with me when we just traveled for Thanksgiving. Baby was super distracted and didn't nurse well all day, was too exhausted from not napping well (due to be excited by seeing lots of new people/things) to eat well at night. I got super engorged and uncomfortable and missed my pump a lot.

I would decide if you are really going to pump while you are away. I brought my PISA when we travelled, thanking we would go out and I might need to pump, plus I brought a few frozen bags of milk. We did use one or two bags but I never pumped, so I lugged the whole pump cross country and bag for no reason. Also it made my luggage overweight so I had to carry it on- but you are entitled to carry it on separate from any other carry on allowances as its a medical device. So at least I didn't have to pay to bring it and not use it.

So if all you will need to pump is for comfort, I'd probably get a cheap manual one but not even open it unless you need it. If you would need to pump for a bottle to feed baby, may as well bring the big guy.

I would bring the PISA vs spend money buying another pump.

Do you use a manual at all? I feel like if you normally don't (or hand express), then it's probably better to just bring the PISA along!

I will be flying cross country with my EBF 5 month old for about 2 weeks around Christmas. I normally pump at work and also after she goes to bed. Should I take my Medela PISA with me for the trip? I won't need to pump often, but will need to once in a while as her grandparents will watch her for a few hours here and there. Or does it make more sense to buy a manual pump? Thanks!
