We had our anatomy scan yesterday. Our little GIRL is measuring a week ahead, and everything looks great. Her heartbeat was 148, and I'm up about 11 pounds at 19 weeks. So many of you doing so well on weight gain. I've been pretty good overall, but hit the Halloween candy more than I should've

@anonysquire: wooohoo!! so exciting!

I had my midwife appointment this week. They just went over my anatomy scan and said everything looked great. They aren't changing my due date even though he measured ahead by a few days on every measurement, and a week ahead for his legs! They measured my uterus for the first time at this appointment, and I was a week ahead there too.. I think baby might be a bit big?? Hard to tell at this point.

I've gained 7lbs according to their scale. Eek..

Just had my anatomy scan today. The baby had all parts and all organs. Don't worry, I asked several times. It is so weird to think that the ultrasound tech is the only one in the world who knows our babies gender. Ahhhhh it's still killing me.

So far I have gained 6 pounds, the heartrate was 130. I have not felt any kicks yet I don't think. I don't know? And they moved my due date up 3 days.

My next appointment is November 25!

Had our appointment on Friday! In addition to the heartbeat we could also hear the baby moving around (sounded like little swishes) - so cool and he said baby was very active :) Hopefully that means I will feel it moving soon!! Anatomy scan is set for the 8th - we're so excited to find out what baby is!

How far along are you: 16 weeks

Heartbeat: 164

Weight gained so far: Zero, but very noticeable bump! Doctor says he's not worried and all looks well.

@anonysquire: Yep. At the birth center they had me eat a sandwich with whole wheat bread and cheese, a small apple and some juice. Apparently it's not exactly accurate. I'm happy for the sugar water test instead. It's gross, but I think it's more accurate.

@Dandelion: oh my that's a good size baby! A was 6lb9oz at 39 weeks. My sister had HUGE babies and she is itty bitty so it's definitely not always related to size of the mom.

@anonysquire: I'm only 5'1! Probably why S got stuck, lol. DH is kind of small, too, so it's crazy that my babies get so big. Both previous babies were a case of undetected GD (found out too late with DS, thought I passed the test with S (but apparently didn't)), so this time I'm taking the test early and I've been eating like I have GD since I found out I was pregnant.

@anonysquire: I won't go past 39 weeks but I get ultrasounds to determine size every week from week 36. If baby is getting too close to big then they're going to get it out before. S got her shoulders stuckand we are all wanting to avoid that this time.

My appointment went great! The OB had gotten caught up by the time I got there, so I didn't have to worry about the delay.

Turns out, the OB I saw today was at the hospital when I lost S, even though I didn't even know it, so he already had first hand experience at who I was, which is nice, cause I get tired of relaying my story to every OB. He said, "Oh yeah, I know who you are!" I hear it a lot, but some OB's aren't as informed.

I heard the lovely heartbeat. I talked with him about plans for labor, and I told him that because of all the trauma with my last labor, I don't want to go into labor. I said I'd really like to have a c-section scheduled, and he said, "I don't blame you, and I think that's a good idea."

I have to wait 5 WHOLE weeks to go back, BUT, it's my anatomy scan!! Also, my blood sugar test (have to take it early, cause of my history), and I get to see the midwife who took care of me in the hospital, Nancy, for my appointment. November 15th won't come soon enough!

@anonysquire: soon you'll have the baby move and you'll be amazed! Last time I had one big baby kung fu at 15 weeks, then nothing until 18-19 when I started noticing it more often. I feel it best when I'm laying watching tv in the evenings, if I'm busy and running around I get nothing.

I just had my monthly appointment- blood pressure was good, heart rate was 158, and I get the anatomy scan anytime after the 17th (my doc likes 19 weeks for this) and did the second part of our quad screen today (yet another blood draw).

Based on our last test results, our chances of the trisomies went from 1/150ish (based on maternal age) to 1/10,000+ so that's always nice to hear :)

Got a good morning sickness story though:
This morning my husband's car broke down, so he got me and C up to drive him in to work across town at 5:30am, since I had the 8am appointment and needed the car. Made it there, then had bad morning sickness, and started puking (and some loss of bladder control no thanks to my first pregnancy/delivery) in the parking lot just as my husband's boss pulls up. I don't know if he's told her I'm pregnant yet because she raised her eyebrows when I gasped out that I was ok and having morning sickness.... all while C was shrieking his head off in the back seat of the car :P Never boring, that's for sure!
