Ah! I have to chime in since my son’s name is Marcus! And we also have a one-syllable last name. I think the hard C in Dominic isn’t too much with Marcus since it Kinda hides at the end of the name and doesn’t draw that much attention to itself.

The middle name we chose is his Korean name, so that’s not much help. :P

Loooooove the name Marcus!!! :D

I like Dominic quite a bit with Marcus. From your list Hugh and Owen are my favorites.

Dominic isn't my favorite but I don't think it's bad. Middle won't be used often so I think the hard C in both is fine. Some other ideas:

Marcus Dean
Marcus George
Marcus Gideon
Marcus Harrison
Marcus Jensen

We are pretty set on Marcus if we have a boy. Do you have any middle name suggestions? Our last name is one syllable.

The only serious middle name we've discussed is Dominic (my no. 1 favorite name that I'm compromising on for Marcus). But they both have a hard C sound, so I'm not sure if they're too similar to use together?

We like Greek, Roman, and British names for boys. Names that have been discussed but vetoed:

Simon
Henry
Alexander
Owen
Hugh
Julian

What do you think, based on the kind of names we like? Marcus Dominic? Something else?
