Thanks, everyone! I guess my next move is to purchase some high quality concealer and sunscreen.

I've never heard of this but I hope it's a good sign for you! When will you be testing? Or are you just waiting for your beta?

I got a lot of melasma just through birth control. The bummer is that it's really hard to get rid of. From what I've read, laser treatments, etc. are not effective with it. Gels and other creams can work, but some are not approved if you're pregnant. Prevention (sunscreen, hats) is the best thing to prevent it from darkening or spreading.

I would love to hear if someone has effectively gotten rid of it! I've been off BC since July, and still have it on my cheeks.

wow - that is an interesting side effect or symptom. Does make-up or powder help conceal it at all? Yay for pink tinged CM! You don't have to get your hopes up, mine are up there for you :) I've got you covered!

I have the beginnings of this right around my mouth. So far, I've been able to hide it with my regular make-up, and I'll definitely be wearing sunscreen this summer so it doesn't get worse.

I am in the middle of an IVF cycle (had my embryo transfer last Friday (I am 9 dpo). Yesterday, I awoke to a large brown patch on my forehead. I went to my RE today who said it was "the mask of pregnancy." Although she had never encountered it as a side effect of the hormone treatments, she said it was theoretically possible since the mask is a result of elevated hormones and I was out in the sun a couple days ago. Anyway, I am not going to get my hopes up and am just going to assume it is a hormonal side effect rather than a pregnancy symptom since it seems too early for that (although I also had pink tinged CM this morning!). I would, however, like to know of any treatment for it. Frankly, it looks awful, and I am avoiding colleagues today because it is so embarrassing.
