We still have lo in our room at 6 months and go downstairs for all changes, but he sttn so it's not that bad. I was really worried about it, but it's better than I thought it would be. We do have a bedroom on the first floor but use it as a playroom. I like the privacy of master up and proximity to sleeping LO(s). If you hated being on a different floor, could you make one of the upstairs room the 'master' until LOs were a bit older? We kept DS in our room until he was 6 months old and sleeping through the night, but that didn't make too much of a difference. When my LOs cry we have to go up! Does it frequently wake me up enough that I can't go back to sleep, sometimes, but it isn't too bad. The only thing I hate about it that our bedroom is in the back of the house and the stairs are more centrally located, so if there was a fire or burglar I worry I couldn't get to them in time. LO is 8 months and sleeps 12 hours with one wake up (barring teething...) </p> <p>Do you think this would be hard? Would you live in a house like that?</p> <p>We're planning for more LO's in the future but could keep the crib in our room for a while. </p>
