Thanks ladies! That makes me feel a lot better :-) interestingly enough, my doctor called today to check in. When I told her about my supply issues, she suggested that I probably had an oversupply to begin with and that might've actually been what caused my mastitis. She things I'll probably get back up to around 4 to 6 ounces per pumping session but that I probably won't get nine again, which is for the best since that's what caused the problem in the first place...So we'll see what happens

It is totally normal for supply to drop. Once the infection is out of your system and you stop taking meds it should go back up with frequent nursing (and eating and drinking plenty of water).

I had it when my baby was 3 mo. I am not sure what caused it. It was around the exact same time that I bought a new pump, because I hated my old one. My supply had dropped some even before mastitis because my pump sucked. But it was fairly low (pumping output, never had issues BFing her) when I got mastitis. I got antibiotics the next day and I felt better within a day, so mine didn't last a week.

But to answer the question, after my infection cleared up and I began using my new pump my supply went back up and I am pumping more than I ever was with my old pump. I actually quit all of my supplements too (I had been using them with the old pump) and don't take anything except for some brewer's yeast in my oatmeal. So I didn't really do anything specifically, it came back up on its own. I just pumped 20 min minimum 3 x a day (for each missed feeding).

I was getting about 9oz a day when I got mastitis (she was eating 12 oz a day, so I pumped at night to make up for it) and now it's about 2 mo after I had mastitis and I am getting 14-17 oz a day. I recently upped my LO to about 14-16 oz a day to match. I have never had an oversupply, it's pretty regulated to her.

Nurse your baby as frequently as you can to stimulate demand!! I had it twice and was ok in terms of supply.

I'm recovering from a case of mastitis and my supply has taken a major hit. I used to pump ~9oz in 15 min and now I'm lucky to get 3oz in 30 min. It's gradually gotten less and less everyday since the infection started about 5 days ago. I just ordered some fenugreek and mothers milk to help bring me back up, but I'm wondering if other moms have had similar experiences or have any advice.
