I never threw up, and I did get breast pain pretty quickly. That said, if it's mastitis the antibiotics work very quickly! In the meantime I thought I had the flu because my chills and fever were so bad. I felt SO much better after 24 hours on antibiotics. I threw up right before leaving and also have a temp of 101.2. I have a little bit of breast tenderness but not bad at all and no hard lumps or redness. DS hasn't been eating well bc he has a nasty cold. My primary Doctor thinks I have mastitis and prescribed antibiotics. She said that lots of women show other signs (fever, nausea, vomiting) before they feel any lumps or breast pain. Anyway, I'm just a little nervous to take antibiotics while nursing ( she prescribed nursing friendly meds) and I really really don't want thrush. I have had the flu shot this year.</p> <p>Did anyone have mastitis but not really have the classic signs? </p>
