Oh no :( I used the same techniques when I had it too. I also swore a blue streak while she ate! Not to scare you but try to take probiotics, yogurt etc to avoid thrush - it's even worse than mastitis!!

Haha! I'm sorry. I'm not laughing at you because I know you're in uber pain, but the fact that your LO thinks your breathing techniques are funny makes it so cute and why us momma's tell ourselves everything is so worth it for them.

Hope the antibiotics kick in soon and whisk you to full recovery soon!!!

I'm sorry, that sucks real bad. I'm glad you got on antibiotics now though. I had it when LO was 2 weeks and started to feel better pretty quickly after starting them, though hot showers were a blessing for a couple of days. Hope you have time to get some rest and feel better soon!

Came down with mastitis on Friday (fever, chills, red streaking on breast, large red area on breast, whole breast very sore)

By Saturday evening I felt 100% normal after massage, applying heat, and constantly nursing. I opted not to take the antibiotics. Big mistake apparently.

Today I'm running a fever again. Have a terribly sore breast and feel miserable again.

I started the antibiotics. Nursing feels almost as painful as labor, so I'm using the same breathing techniques to work through the pain. LO thinks it is hilarious. I'm less amused. Humph.
