I didn't buy many maternity clothes. Instead I lived in empire waist dresses and leggings. So comfortable!

I was lucky to get a lot of hand-me-downs from my neighbor but when I did buy, it was from craigslist, target, burlington coat factory, and motherhood maternity.

I bought Old Navy maternity pants with the full belly panel off eBay for $3! I would check there for pants. As far as shirts, I just wore a larger size in t-shirts for the most part. If you have a Burlington Coat Factory near you I just found out that they have a ton of stuff on the cheap. Oh, and JC Penney has a bit of good stuff, too.

Oh, I found this post to be REALLY helpful: http://ohapostrophe.blogspot.com/2010/12/week-25.html I have those same skinny jeans and the striped shirt, they were my most favorite things to wear and next time around I'll probably get a couple more shirts like that.

I got a couple casual jeans and pants at H&M for a decent price. They also occasionally have a 20 or 25% coupon floating around on the internet too!

I've been loving Motherhood clothes, I try not to pay full price for anything though. I just got some skinny jean capris on clearance for like $17 that are long enough to be worn with boots and you can't tell they're capris! I love them!

Target! I've gotten to the 31 week mark with 1 pair of maternity capri jeans, 1 pair of full panel jeans, a few t-shirts, and MOST importantly - a long and stretchy maternity tank top or two. These are amazing, since you can layer on your pre-pregnancy clothes on top.

I spent as little as possible and bought as few items as possible so I wouldn't have any guilt getting rid of them. I was lucky that I could wear jeans to work, so I wore my 2 pairs of Gap jeans into the ground. I also had a denim pencil skirt, a few dresses and I had to buy a coat, that was fun. I went to TJMaxx and basically found the cheapest, size 2XX coat I could find and wore that. Worked great after my son was born too, I could wear him in his Ergo and put the coat on around that!
I also needed new shoes, I had some crazy bloating in my ankles and feet.

it could be bloating that might go away. I didnt have any until way further on, but a lot of my friends had bad bloating that disappeared around weeks 12-15. If not though another thing I did for the werd transitional phase was buy suit pants in a larger size (like 2 sizes up) to fit my waist and have the legs tailored down. Good thing about Asos is they tend to carry the maternity pants with a side panel so you can still wear tucked in shirts.

@winniebee - I did a lot of shopping on Asos.com for suit like clothing. A lot of shift dresses with blazers. I mostly wore non-maternity blazers unbuttoned, but Asos did have some maternity blazers and dress pants

I also got dress pants from Rosie Pope Maternity

I had actually went to the goodwill, wears like new and other consignment places. I bought a few clothes at motherhood maternity if they were on sale. I couldnt afford a bunch of brand new clothes to only wear a few months. Plus i needed dressy clothes for work, so that got expensive quick. Check out your local consignment stores.

I had a bunch of tunic-y shirts from thrift stortes that I've been able to fit into so far {22 wks}, a gf let me borrow a bunch of stuff that she had, I found a few really great items at a community-wide garage sale that I went to recently, & my mom & gma bought me a few things when they found out I was pregnant {motherhood maternity - cheap, but not great quality}. I'm hoping what I have will get me through the entire pregnancy as I'd prefer not to have to buy anything else. Except bras. I think I'll probably end up needing more of those.

I didn't buy many actual maternity clothes because I didn't like them. I did buy maternity leggings and then one size bigger long tops/sweaters to go over. But if you want actual maternity clothes, Gap and Old Navy are not too expensive and they have sales all the time.

I have found a bunch of people in my area selling their maternity clothes on Craigslist. There are a bunch who sell them during yard sales, as well. A lot of the CL posts I have seen even have dates and specifics like "only used for one pregnancy" or "Fall and Winter clothes," stuff like that.

Did you all know that Loft has a maternity line online now? I'm so scouting CL for their stuff. Too darn expensive to buy for just 6 or 7 months!!
