@Cherrybee: I love that we are in exactly the same boat! I was just at the store today trying on some loose clothes, deciding how long I'll be able to wear them. I think going into mat clothes might be premature, but buying a few stretchy items a size up wouldn't be a bad idea. I figure, after the baby is born, you don't right back to your old size but will want to be out of mat clothes eventually, so I hear having one or two sizes up on hand is helpful then too. I've decided I will only buy things with stretch and a little bit, and even them not very much until I have a bump.
I also hear you on the post wedding gain. :( I've been meaning to try to get back to wedding size, but what's the point now? :)

@pregnantbee: This is very true. Also Joey on Friends wearing Phoebe's maternity pants (It's my Thanksgiving pants!) is one of my favorite scenes ever.

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement, folks! To those of you who kindly said that over-the-bump jeans would be too big at this stage - I neglected to mention that I hold ALL my weight around the middle and already look 6 months pregnant!

Honestly - look!

Full panel didn't fit me until late 2nd trimester, but the demi panel is awesome. I bought maternity clothes when I was probably 6 or 7 weeks because they were at the thrift store and they've fit throughout my pregnancy - so I say go for it :)

Try dresses! Maternity pants didn't stay up on me that early on and you run the risk of outgrowing them. I wore a lot of dressed and skirts with leggings in the awkward stages. The demi panels seem better for early pregnancy, too. The panel will probably bunch a lot. Only recently have I begun filling out my panel well.

Congrats! Sending you lots of happy sticky vibes

Go for it!

I was 6 weeks when I bought my first heavenly pair of maternity pants. Best. Decision. Ever.

I was super bloated (and had put on a little weight recently) so nothing felt comfy. Being plus sized, I'd never wear leggings or dresses so those typical transitional pieces weren't an option for me. My friend said she lived in leggings from 5 weeks until 12 weeks when she needed maternity pants, so I didn't feel bad about buying maternity pants at 6 weeks.

I haven't had any issues with them staying on and as my stomach has grown, I certainly appreciate the comfort :) I told my husband, it's like wearing pajamas that look like slacks!

Go for it, you won't regret it!

I got new bras and underwear but other than that--just leave ur jeans unnoticed & hide it or use a rubberband! Or Bella band.
Honestly you'll be wearing mat clothing so long that you will be sick of them-don't start now:/
The bloat will go down soon and then it'll just be baby belly.

I think the maternity jeans will fall off your bum right now but try maternity leggings? Otherwise, go for comfort! Don't forget new bras, too!

I'm only 3 weeks 3 days pregnant.... but I've put on over a stone since my wedding in the spring and my clothes really are too tight - I've been saying for weeks that I need to buy a few comfortable staple items to see me through until I lose the weight....

Anyway, tonight, I decided to stop worrying that this pregnancy wasn't going to stick and I let myself indulge in some online research - you know, baby names, nursery design....maternity clothes....

Well it got me to thinking - those over-bump maternity jeans look reaaaaallly comfy..... and a few long, stretch tops wouldn't go amiss.... and..... I love the maternity cord trousers - they'd look great with a red tunic top to wear Christmas day... and.....

Is next weekend too early for a shopping trip?? Oh come on, no-one will know they're maternity clothes except me and my super comfortable tummy.....! And I don't believe in fate so there's nothing to tempt, right??? 4 weeks.....?!!!
