@hergreenapples: I wear those scoops from Motherhood too! Love them.

We are business-casual, and I'm also in a hospital setting...So I have three pairs of maternity scrubs, and for my office days I rotate a pair of Motherhood leggings, 2 pairs of Gap AlwaysSkinny maternity pants, and a few dresses. For tops, I have about 6 maternity shirts and tanks that I wear with my regular cardigans. I wear the same stuff a lot, but I try to always mix it up with a different piece or different accessories. Scarves hide a multitude of 'Didn't she just wear that on Monday?' sins :)

@blackbird: I hear you on the disgusting casual. I don't want to dress up at all. If I could wear yoga pants and tshirt everywhere I would.

@hergreenapples: I love those tshirts from Motherhood.

I mostly wear dresses and skirts, so I only have two pairs of work appropriate pants - and I almost never wear them.

Stuff in my regular rotation:
-denim pencil skirt
-black pencil skirt
-about 3 or 4 maternity dresses
-3 or 4 non-maternity dresses that still work - some I had already, some I bought while pregnant and just sized up from my normal size
-these cotton scoop-necks from Motherhood in four different colours (black, white, teal and grey): http://www.motherhoodcanada.ca/Product.asp?Product_Id=93199Z10017&MasterCategory_Id=MC2
-a few other cotton tops that work with blazers or cardigans that I already own (my favourite are the extra soft ones from Gap maternity)
-5 or 6 different cardigans (again, some maternity, some not)
-one maternity blouse (I would have bought more, but I hate ironing!)
-maternity leggings in black and grey
-black maternity tights
-I wear jeans on Friday

I do a lot of mixing and matching of different items, and accessorize with belts and scarves (today I'm wearing a black pencil skirt, black tights and a black cotton shirt, with cognac riding boots and a really bright and colourful scarf) to keep things interesting. I've actually been quite happy with my maternity wardrobe :)

@T.H.O.U.: One of my favorite places to shop for sweaters/cardis is Banana Republic . . . they have awesome sale racks! If you want to shop online, Victoria Secret (for the cashmere blends) is a great place to look for longer sweaters/cardis.

My closet was almost exactly like @LivsMama, i.e., 3 pencil skirts, 5 or 6 dresses, and probably 10-12 tank tops/silk shells that I would wear with non-maternity suit jackets or cardigans. I also still wore belts when possible to keep/add shape to the outfit and jewelry. Probably my favorite outfits were wrap dresses - they were so easy!

@blackbird: Thanks! That is a great tip to look for the longer "boyfriend" length ones to help cover a tummy. I agree, I never button but it adds to the outfit.

I have only one maternity cardigan and it's looking pretty pill-y. The rest of mine are just regular cardigans and i'll throw a skinny belt around them. I have a black, extra long 'boyfriend' cardigan and it is PERFECT when pregnant. Plus i wore it before and will wear it after. I don't button mine up; just wear them to cover up my arms/look a little more professional in a meeting. I think I bought it for $20?

Those are some great suggestions! Thanks! I have been needing to replace a few of the cardigans in my rotation (any suggestions for good brands that aren't super expensive but hold up?) I was going to hold off, but maybe I should go ahead and do it so I have them to wear of t-shirts.

@Anagram: I agree, layering looks more put together. I need to get better at this!

I had one pair of black slacks, one pair of khaki slacks, and one pair of dark wash jeans (for Friday). I then had 2 long cardigans and a few camis (for early days) and then had about 6 tops that could be dressed up or down depending on the jewelry.

We are a business casual office, and jeans are allowed on Friday's. I have 4 pairs of maternity pants for the week, and then I wear jeans on Friday. I had friends lend me some tops and what I bought, I probably rotate every two to three weeks or so. I don't have wear dresses since it is winter, tights didn't sound appealing, but if it was summer I would have bought dresses to wear. I still wear pre-pregnancy cardigans over a maternity shirt, just can't button them.

I got huge right away, so even though I'm only 21 weeks today, I've been in Mat pants since around....12 weeks.

Honestly, I've been getting more and more casual. No one has called me on it yet (also, my boss is just super, super nice), but so far I have:

-2 pair of black skinny pants in different fabrics (one more knit, one more like chinos fabric)
-one pair of mat pants that are boot cut and totally knit (like honestly, before pregnancy, I would only wear them to the gym or around the house....but they are black, so I wear them to work now!).
-I just ordered a new pair of gray slim-cut dress pants from Pea-in-the-pod to mix it up a bit.
-I was gifted a few button up mat shirts from my SIL--in white, red, and blue
-I've bought a lot of more casual knit mat shirts. One is a down-right Tshirt with ruching, but I always wear something over it, like a cardigan.
-I still wear all my pre-preg cardigans and even 1 blazer, although it doesn't button anymore (it's slim cut), I wear it open over a shirt.
-I have 2 maternity skirts
-two dresses, but I've only worn 1 so far. Both knee length--one a wrap dress and one v-neck with a ruffle at the hem.

It's always cold in my library, so I always wear layers, which I think (in my mind) looks more professional. So pants+tshirt+cardigan+scarf, or tights+skirt+tshirt+jacket+scarf.

I have a pair of wide leg black dress pants that I wear 1-2x/week now. They are the ONLY pants that fit. I had a pair of dress capris that I loved in the fall, a pair of dark jeans, and a pair of khakis that I regularly wore. Plus a few dresses and skirts sprinkled in. Mostly I wore those casual t-shirts with sweaters and cardigans or nicer looking tops. I was able to wear men's polo shirts until about a month ago, so I would steal my husband's and wear them with the khakis. I have three thin sweaters in my closet that I'd wear when it was really cold, or if i was going to be outside. And i had a couple of long sleeved nicer stretchy type shirts that would dress up or down. I have a very casual office, though, so Fridays were always jeans, tennis shoes, and t-shirts. I've gotten disgustingly casual lately.

If i had to dress nicer, i'd probably go with khakis and polos 90% of the time. I'd just have to have a bigger size pair of khakis for the last 6 weeks.

I worked in a pretty conservative office (no khakis or denim allowed, suits for meetings). I had 2 pairs of black pants, a pencil skirt, and a black dress. With these things I had a few fancier tops that I would wear with a cardigan (non-maternity), maternity sweater, or open blazer. I did wear t-shirts with cardigans a lot, too. I got most everything for work at thrift stores (except the pants because I am 6 feet tall and needed long length).

I wasnt in all maternity clothes until close to 30-32 weeks, which for me was in the summer. I had 2 maternity pencil skirts, probably 6 or 7 dresses, and a bunch of tank tops that I would wear with non-maternity blazers or cardigans. I also wore a ton of maxi dresses with blazers and long necklaces to dress it up. I had a pretty big stash, but I wore most of it on weekends as well, so it wasnt like an entirely separate work/play stash

If you work outside the home in a standard office (business casual 5 days a week for example), what does your maternity clothes stash look like in terms of number of items?

Last time I had two pair of work pants (black and grey) that I would wear twice a week. I have trouble with tops because a lot of maternity tops are casual like t-shirts but I don't want anything too hot.

I guess the fifth day I often wore a dress but dresses were often short on me and I feel like it is more noticeable if you are wearing the same dress every week.
