Maternity dress - agree with PPs, too early. It all depends on the cut of the dress. I was in a wedding at 26 weeks with #1 and wore a regular dress.

As long as it has a little play in the torso, I bet you'll be ok. With my second I immediately got a little thicker there, but at 9 weeks I could still wear most of my stuff. Just not the really tight leggings.

Regular... Unless it's super super fitted as of now already? But I still wouldn't get a maternity.. Maybe just another back up with a more flowy silhouette?

I think, that early, you should still be ok without a maternity dress.

I was 11 weeks last week and had to wear a fancy dress for a work function. I wore a non-maternity BM dress. It was somewhat empire waist so still comfortable, and no one asked if I was pregnant.

I would, however, suggest trying maternity spanx if you plan to wear them. My spanx (non-maternity) were falling halfway down (completely off my ass!) by the end of the night.

I think a maternity dress would be way too big that early. I went to a wedding at 12 weeks with my second pregnancy and I could not have worn a maternity dress. Now, fitted styles would definitely not have worked but a bit too snug, higher waisted regular dress worked. However I was nauseous and bloated by 8 weeks so spanx would have been so uncomfortable.

@misolee: i was in a wedding at 14 weeks pregnant (with #1) and was able to wear a non maternity bridesmaid dress. It was a little snug but doable for the whole day. At 8-9 weeks pregnant with #2 I was definitely showing a little but was able to hide the bump until 13 weeks (we were cautious to share after a loss too). I would vote non maternity. How far along are you now? how do you feel your body is reacting?

I am 18 weeks and most of my dresses still fit. Most of them are A line, I'm not sure what shape your dress is... You should be fine. Have fun!

I would go with a regular dress-- you already have it and less potential for the "are you pregnant" comments.

I did show earlier with LO2 but it was still easy to hide at 8-9 weeks. I'm about 9 weeks with LO3 and can still hide it/wear regular clothes. But, I def don't have experience with multiples so not sure if that would have a big impact that early on..?

Now, if you DO want to go shopping, I say go ahead and check out other dresses, both regular and maternity :)

I'm 8 months pregnant, up 30 pounds, and can still fit into several of my non maternity dresses. Just depends on the cut - obviously you want more fabric in the belly area!

My one and only brother is finally getting married at the end of the month. And I need some help finding a dress.

Here are the facts:
I will be about 8 to 9 weeks pregnant.
I haven't told my family yet because we are being cautious after a previous loss.
I do have a toddler who is the flower girl.
There's a potential I might be carrying more than one (IUI, extremely high beta, will find out next week)

I bought a regular dress before I found I was pregnant. I wore spanx.

Question:
1)do you think I should look for a maternity dress? I know some people show early (2nd pregnancy, etc).
2)OR should I just wear the dress I bought...and hope that it still fits?
