Like PP have said, on group plans through your (or your husband's) employer, pregnancy cannot be considered a pre-existing condition, as far as my understanding goes.

As an example, my employer informed us that we were finally getting a group plan. That night I found out I was pregnant. The plan didn't officially go into effect until a month later, and I'm covered, even though I was already pregnant before the plan went into effect.

My understanding is that group policies are not allowed to consider pregnancy a preexisting condition, but that individual plans can. So, yes, you will be covered under your husband's new company's insurance.

I think you're good to go and the insurance would cover it given there's not a probation period set by his company prior to the insurance going into effect.

I think pregnancy is one of those "events" (there is a proper term but I can't remember right now) that qualify as allowing for change in benefits outside of the open enrollment period, so I wouldn't think you'd have any problems with coverage during an existing pregnancy.
When I first read the title, I thought it meant something totally different, like travel insurance, not sure what's up with my thinking today!

Your pregnancy should be covered! Health insurance can't have pregnancy as part of their pre-existing conditions list. Life insurance can in some cases, but you will be fine for health insurance coverage from day 1!

It should be covered. I got on my husband's insurance at 4 months pregnant. The only snag was his HR department didn't send my info to the insurance company so I had to spend 2 hours on the phone wih hem. After that allows well!

Just make sure you don't have a lapse in coverage. Then you will have a waiting period and that you don't want.

so, i know this may be difficult to answer, but i hope someone can give me some sort of idea, as i'm clueless when it comes to insurance...

right now my husband and i are on our own anthem health insurance plan that is not associated with his current job. the plan REALLY sucks, and basically nothing is covered. praise the Lord, he was just offered a new job with full insurance (the employer said the insurance is phenomenal, but that's all we know about it). we'll finally be able to go to the doctor without feeling guilty or stressing out! whoo! he starts his new job may 21.

well, after this period ends, we'd like to start ttc. i know that the likelihood of getting pregnant right away isn't good, but if i did... would my pregnancy be covered under his new insurance? does pregnancy count as a pre-existing condition? we want to go ahead and start trying asap, but i don't want to miss out on the maternity benefits!

anyone have any idea how this works?
