The material is soft and definitely not see-through. They're not "canvas-like" but definitely durable. I didn't like stuff over my belly, anyway. I got a pair of lulu lemon that worked really well, and I still wear them now (not pregnant). They are super comfy and decent quality. They are just cotton with no texture or anything special, but definitely opaque. I got them at a local boutique so just maybe Google the brand? Good luck! I'm not looking for anything too heavy, necessarily, but I definitely need opaque!</p> <p>The one pair of non-maternity leggings that I own are Simply Vera from Kohl's. They are a textured, almost canvas-like material, and I like that they are a bit more like real pants (plus they have rear pockets, which is a HUGE bonus). I'd love to find something in the same vein. </p>
