I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and have been living in leggings, flowy dresses, and maternity pants for the past....7 weeks I'd say? It's unreal this time around. (My second pregnancy). I go for my NT scan tomorrow and assuming all looks good, I'll come out of the "fat clothes" closet and stop denying this baby bump.

My favorite mat jeans from last time were a pair of jeggings from Oh Baby by Motherhood, a line that Kohl's carried at the time, but doesn't any more. I'm on the hunt and also hopeful some friends can loan me some quality options as the weather (theoretically) cools down.

I literally had to loosen my belt the day BEFORE I found out I was pregnant. By 8 weeks someone asked my friend if I was pregnant. I showed SO fast (bloat, I know, but whoa).

I wore mostly stretchy pants and had one pair of jean capris from motherhood that I really liked. And leggings and big tunics. But I was a stay at home mom by then and didn’t have to dress nicely very often.

i loved the hidden panel for early pregnancy through the second trimester- the ones that have stretchy fabric where the pockets would be. J.Crew were my favorites but I think they stopped making them- but Madewell seems to have a couple options that I will try next time.

@MaryM: I gain weight in my belly but my pants still fall down! I think my fat belly pushes them down :silly:

@skinnycow: I remember I would go to my dinner break at work and come back and my coworkers would be like...whoa.

@MaryM: I carry a lot of weight there and tend to wear a lot of Levi's... but they don't make maternity.

Not for my second but this third time around I wore them very early on by like 10 or so weeks, but then a few weeks into 2nd trimester didn't need them as much bc the bloat calmed down, and then a few weeks after that was back in them again. Might as well get your use out of them!

I wore demi panel for the early stages of pregnancy (and post partum), and once I had a significant bump I preferred the full panel. I got mine at the Gap.

@MaryM: I have the exact same problem. When I gain weight it ALL goes to my butt and thighs so it's hard to find jeans that don't gape at the waist. I tend to go for stretchy jeans when I'm not pregnant so they'll accomodate my butt and not be huge in the waist.

My last maternity jeans were from Gap and I *loved* them! Maybe try there or Old Navy? Order online and return, if necessary? They were a demi panel thick band style.

Also, I've never found jeans I'm totally happy with. I carry significantly more weight in my butt and thighs than stomach...so with most maternity pants I have to be SUPER pregnant for the belly band to hold up pants that fit my bum. I have one pair from Motherhood that my SIL passed down to me that I can keep up, but I've lost weight since my first pregnancy, so they have awful lumps around the top of the jean part from being a little big.

I survived in stretchy waisted casual capris during the summer. My SIL just had a baby (and is similar in size to me) so I'm hoping when I go visit this weekend she might have some pants to hand down to me! Otherwise, I think I'll just keep wearing sweats when I'm at home and just totally give up on jeans. It's hard enough to buy them when I'm not pregnant!

I think it was 10-12 weeks with LO2, with LO1 I made it past 16 weeks. I did use the pony tail trick with a belly band for awhile both times.

My favorite jeans were the Jessica Simpson brand from Motherhood Maternity. I had Old Navy/Gap and the band was always so uncomfortable/too tight on my belly.

I was about 10 weeks when I started using a binder clip to hold my work pants closed by the end of the day. (they didn't have buttons, so I couldn't do the hair tie). I quickly started wearing demi panel pants and fat pants only after that.

When did you start showing and/or needing maternity jeans with your 2nd+ pregnancy? I wake up looking relatively normal but by the end of the day I look like I did when I was 15-16 weeks pregnant with DD. I know it's bloat but this seems outrageous at 5 weeks.

Side question: anyone have maternity jeans they would recommend? I bought some from Motherhood Maternity last pregnancy but I didn't care for them.
