I love the full panel for my entire second trimester... but once I was into my third tri I hated anything on my stomach and ended up folding the panel down. I really wished I had a pair of underbelly jeans!

I will get some for my next pregnancy.

First pregnancy I preferred the underbelly second pregnancy I preferred full panel. Unfortunately my pregnancies were opposite seasons so I bought a lot of under the belly (mostly from e-bay) stuff the second time and didn't wear hardly any of it.

Early in my pregnancy, I preferred the demi panel, but once I started to get bigger, I preferred the full panel. The only problem was that I was 8 months pregnant in August, and the full panel was sooooo hot for me. I would fold it down when I was outside and not in air conditioning. My stomach also itched like there was no tomorrow...so the panel made that worse too. But to stay up, I preferred the full!

I got a few of my demi panel stuff at the Gap. They have the different panel types for most of their pants!

I'm only (almost) 16 weeks, so I don't have a huge belly yet, but right now I prefer the full panel IF it's made from the tighter spandex material as opposed to the more baggy cotton-poly blend knit material.

Mainly just because I'm sure I would have love handles with anything under-belly, since then it would be cutting in right on my hips (not a good look on me).

But it probably depends on your body type?

These pictures explain the different styles I'm talking about-- The first style of full-panels are the ones I like with the spandex top--no love handles and comfortable (to me) even now when my belly is not very big.

The second style are like all the Mat pants my SIL tried to give me--they aren't comfortable (for me) at all. The panel is more bunchy and more cottony, like leggings. They're gappy and uncomfortable (but maybe in the 3rd tri, I'll like them more).

I'm 2 days shy of being 13 weeks and I have pair full panel maternity jeans. So far, it's really comfy although the panel does slide/roll down a bit as s the day progresses. I'm thinking it's because I don't have much of a belly yet to hold them up. At home, I wear my pants below my belly and it's pretty comfy and allows my belly to "breathe". I did try on one pair of underbelly jeans at the store, and it didn't feel as comfy as the full panel one. The store I tried was Motherhood Maternity.

I bought only full panel because it seemed like they would give me a smoother line/not cut into the waist/love handle area. I'm slightly tired of having that material over my belly, but only a few weeks left! I don't think I would go back and change it. Have seen lower panel pants at Gap and Old Navy, I think.

The demi panel pants were really uncomfortable for me. I bought a few pairs from the Gap because they were the only style the pants I wanted came in but I didn't really wear them much past 6 months. I loved the full panel- I had the boot cut Paige jeans that I found accidentally at the Bloomingdale's outlet. Only issue was that they were super long- like the regular designer denim- so I had to pay to get them hemmed. Although they looked cute, they weren't really my favorite pair of maternity jeans because they were really low cut (where the jean part ended and the panel began in the back).

I cannot stand the under-belly pants! I greatly prefer the panel. I think part of it is that I'm 5'10" with a long torso, so if I wore the under-belly kind my shirts wouldn't cover my belly entirely - not a good look! I also like how smooth the panel makes everything.

I despised the over belly panel. A lot of women said it was really comfortable but I just found it to be itchy and uncomfortable. I also found the part that connected the stretchy belly panel to the pants part always dug into my lower belly. I lived in low panel pants throughout my pregnancy and loooooved them. :)

I also found it hard to find those types of pants, though. I got one pair of jeans from a friend that were Old Navy and a couple from Target.

I had 2 pairs of Paige maternity jeans and both had the side elastic. Like this :

http://www.figure8maternity.com/viewItem.cfm?pid=1313900

I absolutely adored those jeans and wore them comfortably until 33 weeks or so. I swelled really terribly at that point and had to go buy a pair if full panel jeans from gap, which I loved at that point, too. But if you're not a sweller, I can't recommend those side elastic jeans enough. Really, even if you do swell, I still recommend them until you can't squeeze your ass in them anymore. They were really great jeans.

Through most of my pregnancy I preferred the full panel and loved Paige Denim's Laurel Canyon maternity jeans. However, by the end of the pregnancy my belly was big enough that the full panel pants just rode the very crest of my belly and thus started to dig in and be uncomfortable and I preferred under belly pants. My favorite work pants with an underbelly style were from Japanese Weekend and were seriously great (I'd wear them now if I thought I'd get away with it). I found a local boutique for maternity wear called Pickles and Ice Cream. Then once I found brands that fit me well I would look online too.

I liked the low panel in the beginning, but eventually, my shirts weren't long enough for me and I liked having the panel because it saved me from having to tug my shirts down lest someone see my bare skin at work. I'm just too tall for that style. I do have a pair of skinny jeans in that style and they are comfy and I do wear them, but only with tunics and the like.

I like the full panel now that i'm 8 months pregnant, though. Before, it just annoyed me. It does help them stay up, though.
