I bought a mattress topper for my LOs travel cot as he found that really hard. It is kind of quilted and pretty soft. He's used it whenever we travel since about 3 months and never had any issues.

Hmm... our crib mattress also flips to a softer, memory foam side for toddlers. I didn't flip it until after he turned 1 though. Just make sure whatever you find is breathable, especially if your baby is a belly sleeper. I just always worry but that's me. :) Sorry I wasn't of much help...

hm, we had a toddler side that is softer, so we flipped the mattress, but we also had a waterproof cover that was kinda soft on the crib.

Oh! We had something similar happen... for some reason LO wouldn't nap or sleep in his bed and my mother said it was b/c our crib mattress was too hard and put a ton of blankets (which we thought was bad) on top but magically he loved that.

Since we didn't want tons of blankets in his crib... we went out the next day and bought a twin foam mattress topper (they didn't have crib size), I looked for something I could cut up since they only had twin toppers. We went home and cut it to size and that did the trick. Good luck! :)

We got ours at walmart... I think that's the cheapest. It's not perfect... we were able to cut into 4 shapes (two shapes make up one layer) and that made up two layers. I measured and calculated and that was the best I could do. It works out great under the fitted sheet for us.

C is almost 7 months and has been waking up every hour or two at night for the last few weeks. I think it is because his crib mattress is harder than our bed, which he usually takes naps on. Are crib mattress toppers safe for his age? Do any of you use one and have any recommendations? I've seen some on Amazon, but don't really know what is best.

Otherwise... Any advice on getting out of this non sleeping crazy stage would be lovely! We're exhausted over here!
