@edelweiss: They aren't the most supportive, but they are so comfortable. My ribs are expanding with pregnancy so I like the stretch, but I wouldn't run in the them.

@edelweiss: I wear these stretchy gap pullover bras as "camisoles" all the time (http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=35469&vid=1&pid=636142012)
Tank tops ride up on my stomach NOT preg, why would I want to deal with that now? No shame.

I was a 36DD pre pregnancy and so I can't go braless!! I wear a strapless bra with strapless dresses - one of the Gossard Wonderbra ones with the little plastic hands in. I don't find them uncomfortable in pregnancy as long as they are the right size. If the maxi is a halterneck, I wear a halterneck bra. If it has straps I wear my regular bra.

This is my problem with maxi dresses... I can't imagine shoving my loud and proud pregnancy EE-cups into a strapless bra right now. Oww. I've been buying them with thicker straps, or even tank style, so that I can wear a normal bra underneath.

before pregnancy/LO i went braless, but today i wore a maxi dress with a coobie bra. the coobie bra kinda looks like a camisole on top, so i *hope* nobody was the wiser. i know, i should be embarrassed of myself.

@2PeasinaPod: I only have one non maternity one and its got thicker straps so its no issue. Here's the cute one I just got at Old Navy at almost 11 weeks- I was barely showing and it still fit great so I bet you could buy them when not knocked up.

@kjpugs: Ahh...I never thought of getting a maternity dress for that reason!

I think my other problem is that I have no shoulders. So everything is usually too long/low for me and I need to get the straps taken up. Good to know though that I'm not the only one who prefers to wear a regular bra or something under them if they aren't working!

@kjpugs - bahhh why have I never thought to go maternity for that reason??!! I always find "regular" maxi dresses don't have enough room up top.

I'd either get dress that works with my regular bra, or wear a little cardi with the dress to cover my straps.

@MsLipGloss: I had a Nu Bra, but I think it was more for 20 year old boobs than 30+ year old boobs. The thought of wearing one now, while pregnant, is laughable. There was a teeny bit of lift, but mostly just a bit of shaping and coverage. Even in my early 20s, I didn't think it was that comfortable and would only wear it on special occasions, like for a wedding, not for going around all day running errands.

I go braless (if there is one built in . . . gravity--and breastfeeding--have been kind to me), or come up with a way to camouflage straps (I wish the strap showing *trend* would just die!).

Has anyone tried one of the NuBras? Yanno, the sticky silicone pieces that join in front . . . they are backless/strapless (and would prevent show-through).

i try to buy ones that don't show any straps, but for the dresses that do show straps....

i either wear a strapless if i need to be proper-like, and for regular days i just let the straps show and make sure i'm wearing a bra with reallly thin and nice looking straps. tank tops underneath may make an appearance too!

eta: yes! racerback dresses i wear with my bras that have that little hook that converts them. in fact all my bras have the hook -- i love using them!

I either wear a strapless bra or I wear maxi dresses that cover my bra straps. You can look into getting a convertible bra so you can change the configuration and maybe cross the straps in the back for those maxis that are racerback.

I've been wearing stretchy pullover bras that sort of look like tank tops on a daily basis (regular bras are too confining and I don't feel like figuring out my size at this point). So I plan on doing that and pretending it's a tank top. The girls are getting big, so even with a strapless bra it would be rather inappropriately cleavage-y at this point.
