The conversion by SJP only cost something like $20 plus shipping and I used a size 2 woven. They just bother me. I think Sleeping Baby Productions makes amazing slings... I have 3 of them! They're a great price. FWIW, if you can find a wrap piece to use, a conversion would be the most cost effective, even though they're more expensive in the beginning. It's a shame you can't take advantage of the swap or something similar-- it's a great time of year to be on the buying end because people are trying to save money and sell things for the upcoming holidays. But I understand needing to find something retail. Anyhow, my mom made me a ring sling so I could see if I'd like it, and I do, but I'd like to get one that is a bit prettier, and made from a fabric that's a little better for babywearing. I can't really afford a wrap conversion... </p> <p>Also, I want to put it on my Christmas list, which means I can't buy anything off of a swap group, because it's for my MIL to buy for me... </p> <p>That said, is the maya ring sling an ok option?? </p>
