We were gifted our non-breathable bumpers and had it set up in the crib before LO was born... when we finally put LO in the crib to sleep when he was 5 months old... we took them off but he would wiggle around so much and get his little legs in the bars we decided to put them back. I think after reading this thread though... The CPR instructor was our least favorite. She was well-intentioned, but you could just tell she didn't have kids of her own. When discussing how SIDS generally happens between 3-6 months, she said something about how it wasn't as bad if it was earlier since you hadn't really gotten to know the baby yet! The city ordinance banning them has been in effect since September 2011. We use the non-breathable ones. DS kept wedging his head onto the sides and corner of the crib, which would wake him up.
