I just made lunch with a vegan friend, I have forgotten how difficult it can be to think about another person's food restrictions!

What's your menu? My friend is accustomed to eating salads and things, but I do know she is pretty strict about eating even vegan things when they've been prepared along side non-vegan foods...kind of like cross contamination. I'd ask to see what he/she would be comfortable with.

My go-to vegan-approved dishes are some kind of quinoa salad or vegetarian chili. Both delicious and can be enjoyed by all the guests!

is it a buffet style or sit down? if it's buffet, i would try and make sure there are a few options available for her. i probably would make something separate for her, something a little more filling than a salad or veggie sticks. :)

Maybe you could go over the menu with her and see if it's possible to customize part of a dish for her? She's probably used to these situations, so she might have some ideas and talking about it could help a lot!

I'd have a nice salad prepared? I would contact her and ask what types of things she can eat too.

Two friends and I are preparing a meal for 20+ people and we've planned out a menu. We JUST found out that one of those people is vegan. She is able to eat some of the food but not enough to be full or enjoy the meal. Should I make something different just for her? Let her know before hand what the situation is? What should I do?
