Orgain users...does anyone use the unsweetened powder? I feel like the jury is still out on Erythritol.

I've never had Orgain but I'll have to try it!

I'm a big fan of Vega. It's plant based with zero soy, gluten and non gmo. The chocolate and mocha flavor are my favorite. I blend it with 1/2 frozen banana to make it creamy. The vanilla is also really good and more versatile. I love adding pumpkin and cinnamon to it when fall weather hits! Edit: Vega uses stevia extract.

@Anagram: Also a big fan of RXbars. Mint and chocolate chip are my fav.

@Mommy Finger: it's not a shake, but RX bars actually keep me full (we'll, also they are like 500 calories), but totally clean ingredients.

@Mommy Finger: Orgain should be great for you then because its plant based but soy free.

@Mommy Finger: It upsets my stomach a lot. I'm not gluten free or vegan, but whey free proteins do better on my stomach.

@looch: I used to use greek yogurt, a little almond or peanut butter, milk/water/juice (depending on what I have), and frozen fruit. I think the sugar in fruit is really what does me in. And I realize that might still be the case with other smoothies.

I also have a soy intolerance so I can't do tofu

Another vote for Orgain. I was disappointed that their original product has whey in it (what I try to avoid). They came out with an Orgain vegan shake recently which is completely whey free. I like doing a doppio espresso and adding a protein shake to it. I usually eat some fruit with it and am good for awhile.

For powders, I've enjoyed Orgain chocolate fudge a lot. You can get a big tub of it at Costco for pretty cheap. Its very good made the way they suggest on the tub - with a banana and almond milk. I use unsweetened almond milk and frozen banana and some ice in my Vitamix and its quite tasty. However, I've had it with just cold almond milk and some ice in a Blender Bottle and its been just fine that way too. If I have any coffee leftover, I put it in the fridge and blend that with ice and the Orgain for a frappe type thing. If I'm feeling extra hungry, I'll eat an egg, a handful of nuts, a string cheese, or a banana with PB on the side - all relatively stable things you can keep at work or in a lunch bag.

For already prepped shakes, I've actually liked the Slim Fast Advanced shakes lately - the ones with really high protein and very low sugar. Chocolate is the best. I also think the Atkins and EAS Carb Advantage ones are good - better than the Premier shakes which are also very low sugar and low carb. I like the chocolate and mocha ones from Atkins and the dark chocolate from EAS. If you buy Premier, I'd actually stay away from the chocolate. I think the banana flavor is oddly the best one in the line. Ready to drink shakes and a string cheese and a mug of coffee in the car is a pretty frequent breakfast over here!

When I’m in a hurry I make a protein shake with Vega One protein powder and almond milk. I usually eat a banana or greek yogurt with it also.

What are you putting in your smoothies?

I have found that if I use silken tofu, chia seeds and ground flax in addition to the fruit (frozen cherries, pineapple, banana, sometimes peach if I have one that needs to be eaten), I am full until lunch.

I prep the blender jar the night before and just pop it on the blender base in the morning.

Shakes don't normally fill me up but I have found that by adding a banana (carbs) and PB (fat) to the protein powder it helps!

Is there such a thing as a good meal replacement shake? I've been trying to plan all of our meals in order to be healthy and cost effective and breakfast has always been difficult. I really am looking for something that I can drink on my way to work as I spend the entire morning getting my kids ready and out the door. I'm just looking for easy here and something that will keep me full until lunch. I've done the whole make eggs in advance and reheat but I can't eat a lot of eggs (mild intolerance) and any time I've made my own smoothies, I'm ravenous within an hour or two. Suggestions? Honestly, I feel like all I do is food prep and it's getting exhausting.
