@GreenThumb: Good point. My brother came out to help with the twins. He went out and bought us food.

When my mom and sister came out, my mom cooked so much and we were very well fed. Yum!

MIL has come out a few times and she's made us meals twice. We resort to just buying meals.

My MIL was here for 2 weeks when I got home from the hospital with LO2 and didn't cook 1 meal for us. She kept busy with LO1 though. A couple friends brought over meals and that was greatly appreciated

@GreenThumb: This is a good point. My in-laws live in the same city as us, but they only brought us food once when LO1 was born and never when LO2 was born. If the grandma doesn't cook, I would bring the food sooner

I might have messed up and was in twin mom mode and voted to feed everyone. Haha. Oops.

I voted after grandma leaves, but in the case of my mom who didn't cook once after I had LO, I would have loved a couple of meals from friends! So maybe it depends on what the grandma is like  .

I voted after grandma leaves. I assume grandma will be doing some cooking while she's there, so it might be most helpful to have food after she leaves

I'm sure either way would be appreciated, but for me it would probably more helpful after grandma leaves.

Let's say your friend just had a baby. Mom is on maternity leave, dad is on 2 weeks of paternity leave. Grandma is visiting for 2 weeks after the baby is born, as well - staying with the new family. Do you take food over after grandma leaves or do you take food when grandma is there and make enough for all 3 of them?
