DD is 13 months and is getting 3 meals and 4 bottles of WCM. I've tried giving her milk in a sippy, straw (even though she drinks water from a straw since 7 months) and open cup but she REFUSES to drink milk out of it. So it looks like it's going to be a slow transition for us which I'm fine with.

@Mrs. Polish: Milk doesn't equal formula. The milk is the dairy component of their diet...they only need 16 ounces of milk a day, and that is if they have no other dairy. There are lots of other nutrients they need that aren't found in milk, and they have to get those from food. (Just did a lot of research for the post that went up yesterday ;)

DS has the following routine:
7:30 - breakfast
Milk a little after breakfast
Snack between meals
11:30 - lunch
Milk and snack sometime in the afternoon
6:00 - dinner
Milk before bed

He's offered the three sippy cups of milk but sometimes only takes two and sometimes has 4. There are about 8 ounces in each cup and he usually drinks almost all of it.

When he transitioned away from formula he was drinking about 3-4 six ounce bottles.

We transitioned about a month ago and now we do 3 meals and 2 snacks. She gets in a straw cup with each meal, for a total of anywhere from 15 - 18 oz a day. She also gets water throughout the day. She goes to bed shortly after dinner/milk.

@googly-eyes: We are going to take away the nightime bottle last for sure. I think it helps settle her since she gets right after bath, then we read and it is bed time. I told DH I don't care if it takes her a year to fully get rid of the bottles, I just want her on milk. Formula is expensive!

She's 18 months but we've had the same feeding schedule for a while.

7:30ish (depending on wakeup): Breakfast with milk
9:30-10: Snack
11:30/12: Lunch with milk
3:30-4: Snack
6: Dinner with milk
7:30: Small amount of milk before bed

The cups with dinner have about 6oz of milk and then her milk before bed is just about 2-3oz but she usually only has 1-2oz. She just has water otherwise.

We did bottles in between but quickly moved to cups. A cup in the morning when we first get up, and I make it available to her throughout the morning. She has it with her snack before nap. Then we do lunch usually around 2, snack around 4 and dinner around 530-6 (lately) or an earlier dinner if no snack... and at those time she may get milk, possibly some juice or water (or more likely, watered down juice.) And she is still getting one bottle at night at sixteen months. It really helps settle her although I think I could take it away soon. I just haven't because we have had other transitions going on.

We do 3 meals with milk offered at each meal +1 snack. He has water available to him at all times. He doesn't wake up until 8-9 and lunch is at 11 at daycare, so he does a small breakfast, lunch at school, a snack after nap, and then dinner after school.

Almost 16 months old:

7 am: wakes up and asks for milk & sometimes a breakfast bar/cherrios to tie her over
7:30: Goes to daycare and has breakfast & rest of milk
9:30 am: snack with water
11:30: lunch with milk
3: snackwith water
5:30: dinner with water
7: milk before bed.

Somedays she drinks 24 oz of milk, otehrs she will only drink 10-15. She's always hungry right now, so I push the milk to try and help fill her up since I'm scared she will make herself sick with as much as she's trying to eat!

3:30/4: small snack (same as before)

LO is almost 21 months. She gets 3 meals, maybe one snack. Always milk with meals, but I don't keep it from her if she asks at other times. She drinks water throughout the day. The snack sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. It depends on how well she's been eating at meals and her sleep schedule. Lately she's been waking too late in the morning and from her nap to allow enough time for snacks.

E is 17.5 months and gets 3 meals, 1 snack. I cut down to one snack because he wasn't eating much at meals.

He also gets 3 bottles of milk during the day, usually at the end of/after meals. Otherwise he'd just drink the milk and not eat. He has access to a water bottle all throughout the day.

Our days looks like this. DD is just 1.

6:00 am - wake up, nurse, go back to sleep
7:30 am - wake up, milk from a straw cup (usually about 2 oz)
8:00 am - breakfast, offer WCM (usually just a few sips)
11:30 am - lunch, offer WCM (she will usually drink 2-3 oz)
2:00 pm - 3 oz. bottle of WCM pre-nap (trying to stop this, but DD is holding on for dear life)
3:30 pm - snack, offer WCM (usually just a few sips)
5:45/6:00 pm - dinner, offer WCM (will drink 2+ oz.)
7:00 pm - nurse before bed

DD is getting MUCH better about drinking WCM from her straw cup - she used to only take a few sips at a time, but will now drink about 2 oz/meal.

We also keep a sippy or straw cup of water in her play area all day - she will pick it up and drink throughout the day and usually gets 3-5 oz. of water.

Starting to think about transitioning R to cow's milk from formula. Which got me thinking about meals. Right now she get 3 meals a day and then 4 bottles. On her birthday, I just move to 3 meals, snacks, and milk with meals?

What is your toddler's day like for food?
