Thanks ladies! I have the ingredients for the strata already so I'll be making that this weekend but will definitely keep the hash brown quiche (never heard of it before but sounds delicious!) and overnight French toast in mind for next time! Have any of you tried Smitten Kitchen's boozy French toast? Curious about that one too for future use...

@serenity207: I made mine on an afternoon and served it the day before. And I just dumped all the bread in and put everything on top and then smushed it a little so the egg soaked through it all

@serenity207: Overnight french toast casserole and Paula Deen hashbrown quiche. Make the quiche the night before and finish off in the morning. The French toast just bakes in the morning and serve with fresh fruit. Super easy.

Hi @lamariniere and @blackbird! So I decided to go for the strata for a brunch this Saturday! Since you've both made it before, I was wondering if you could help with two questions:

1) How long do you thing I can go between prep and baking? I was going to make it around 6pm the night before and bake it around 9:30am. Is this too long?

2) I keep reading over the directions and am confused! She states to first out 1/3 of the bread down...and then add 1/3 of bread. Wouldn't this make it 2/3 of bread as a first layer? Or am I supposed to put something between the 1/3 layers of bread?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for suggestions everyone! I am sitting here drooling....@MrsHighHeels - I've never seen that kind of breakfast cup - it looks so pretty! I'm going to have to have a lot of brunches so I have a good excuse to test out all of these recipes. They all sound so good! And @Chuckles - If you could send yours when you find it that would be great too! I love the idea of being able to start the process the night before.

I can't type the recipe out now but I will during naptime... My MIL gave me a recipe for a really good breakfast casserole that has eggs, shredded cheese, sausage, and shredded potatoes. So basically everything you wanted :) and the best part is you are supposed to assemble it the night before and just bake it in the morning. I'll try to post the recipe later today.

@lamariniere: @serenity207: that strata is amazing. I did add sausage to it when I made it once. So so so good

Otherwise you can take shredded hash browns, layer them in a greased pan, dump eggs and sausage and cheese on top, then bake at 350 for about 50 minutes. I do this every week with a turkey kielbasa sausage and a carton of egg beaters me side I'm too lazy to crack all those eggs

This is my go to breakfast casserole. You could easily add sausage to it.

Sounds like a great menu already! I made this casserole for Christmas morning and it was delicious. Instead of bread, I used shredded packaged hashbrowns. You just throw everything together and bake! http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Christmas-Breakfast-Sausage-Casserole/Detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=breakfast%20casserole&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Recipe&soid=sr_results_p1i2

Something fancy and easy that my friend made once when she had a bunch of her girlfriends over for brunch were these baked egg cups - http://ohsnapletseat.com/2013/01/14/a-paleo-breakfast-baked-eggs-in-ham-cups/

I think a large bowl of mixed berries would look really pretty presentation wise too! Just raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries or something like that.

I have friends coming to visit soon and I'm hosting a brunch for a small group of my friends. I'd rather not spend all morning in the kitchen and I'm not a great cook so I'm looking for an easy but delicious breakfast casserole I can either throw together morning of or cook in a slow cooker overnight. I'd love a recipe that includes some type of potatoes, sausage, eggs, and cheese - but if you have a great one without all these ingredients please share anyway! I'm thinking of rounding out the menu with mimosas, cinnamon buns, croissants (with Nutella on the side), yogurt, granola, and fruit salad...if I'm missing anything feel free to let me know! TIA!

Oh, and any other easy but delicious meals to make are welcome as well since they'll be here a few days. :)
