Been there, done that! We did the calorie bombs that @sammyfab recommended. Lots of SunButter (more calories than peanut butter), dairy (though my kid won't touch it).

Also, make sure they aren't drinking too much so they are hungry for food. In our case we used Kids Boost to get good calories and he drank too much but he had to gain weight.

My son is also a huge snacker. So I just made sure to feed him every couple of hours. He thought that daycare was starving him. I just made sure I had good foods on hand for him to eat.

Have you been reading Mrs. Bee's posts on toddler eating? They're awesome!

If she is historically a small eater, then I would turn my focus to calorie-rich and high-fat/high protein foods so that even though she's only eating 3 bites, they're 3 super filling bites!

My LO is extremely tiny at 16 months and not even 18 lbs.

She occasionally doesn't want to eat her meals like today. We've been sitting here for an hour and she's eaten about 3 tiny bites that I had to feed her. She usually feeds herself about half her meal and I will spoon feed her the rest.

We all know it's nearly impossible to make little ones this young do anything they don't want to do!

Do I just keep offering her lunch every 15 min until she eats something? Or do I just trust that she will make it up later in the day? I'm just extra worried because she is so skinny and needs all the calories she can get!
