My weekly email I got this week (at 29 weeks) mentioned that baby measurements within 1-2 weeks are normal! I was a week ahead one time and then back on track the next.

I measured at least two weeks ahead my entire pregnancy. No GD. Dr wasn't concerned and basically said it will most likely be a bigger baby. I am now 3 days from my due date so we will see :)

My baby measured 3-4 weeks ahead the entire time after 17 weeks (I had monthly ultrasounds) and my fundal measurements pretty much matched up with the ultrasounds. My dates were accurate- I was charting and I had an early ultrasound. I ended up having GD. My LO was born at 39 weeks weighing nearly 9 lbs via c section. Oh, and I'm 5'0" and my husband is 5'7"... So I'm thinking it was definitely the GD.

@Dandelion: I'm 5'2" (on a good day) and make 10+ pound babies too! My husband is only 5'6".

@PEAPIE: I wouldn't worry yet - it's early and a lot can change. I measured big and ended up having a big baby, but I know people who measured big and it was fluid.

I measured about 3 weeks ahead the last few months of pregnancy and even had an additional ultrasound to check it out towards the end of pregnancy and yet my son was born at 38 1/2 weeks at 6 lb 7 oz. So even had I gone to 40 weeks, he wouldn't have been over 8lbs most likely. I think perhaps I just had extra fluid in there or something which measured as a bigger baby.

I would talk to them about taking your glucose test to rule out GD. I was diagnosed with LGA but it wasn't until I was about 36 weeks and I apparently was measuring closer to 40 weeks!

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Fundal height can be +/- 2 cm and mine has sometimes been ahead by 3. Usually it will slow down for a couple weeks and end up right on track later. I don't think it means you are going to have a giant child at all.

I wouldn't start worrying. My DH and I are a foot apart. LO measured ahead lots of times. Once, almost 3 weeks ahead and this was when I was in the 30's. I was worried I'd go Ito labor early. She was born two weeks early and weighed almost 9 lbs. it all worked out and she is long baby that has some weight on her.

If you werr having a BH contraction during measurement that can make it bigger. You don't always feel them.

Did you take your glucose test yet?

Also...I am 5'1 and make 10 pound babies. One reason why I am planning a c section this time.

At my 24 week appointment yesterday my fundal height is suddenly measuring closer to 26 weeks. I was/am in shock! Because, honestly, I've just started to actually show in the last couple weeks! The bump doesn't look 2 weeks ahead, for sure! My weight has basically stayed consistent, I'm just now up 4 lbs.

At the 20 week ultrasound baby boy was measuring on track, "maybe a little bit ahead" according to the tech. I would think that a little bit ahead, does not mean 2 weeks!? The tech never notified my midwife about a size discrepancy/extra fluid either.

I know there are many factors that could play a role in measuring ahead, but I'm barely 5'2" and hubs is 6'5"- basically a giant! So I'm a little worried that I'm going to have a ogre baby!

Should I wait until I'm consistently measuring ahead to freak out or go ahead and get mentally prepared for naturally birthing a giant baby?

It's just a growth spurt, right?!
