i go by measurements and then size up a little. i ordered SKR based on her measurements and it said she was in 6 month shoes at 12 months... totally wrong! a GF said that there is supposed to be a finger's width of room between the toe and shoe to give room to grow but still fit properly.

@jetsa: right!! haha... once they start walking (15 months, for my first little man) they RUN, though! :) get ready! :)

to the OP, I might just try buying a few pairs at a time as you need them -- maybe don't stock up too much in case they go unworn? :) colourful socks are fun!

@tysonja: yep DS wears a size 5 and isn't walking yet! You'd think those big feet would make them steadier :silly:

sounds about right to me! :)

my 1 year old wears size 2-3yrs and my 2 year old wears size 4-5 years (old navy, gap)

at any rate, if they are too big, they can still wear them later on! :)

eta: 1 year old wears sz 5 shoes (doesn't walk yet, though, so really, he wears no shoes ever)
and 2 year old (and 3 months) wears size 9/10 shoes. so yeah, they have big feet!

Yep I had to do the same. My sister got my son some 18 month socks for Christmas last year (sept baby) and i poked fun at her....he wore them all winter they were the only ones that fit!

When measuring your baby's feet for shoes/socks, is there any trick to it? I feel like the number I'm getting is crazy and I can't find instructions anywhere online (maybe it's a stupid question).

Basically I'm trying to buy some socks for my 3mo LO for the fall/winter, so he'll be something like 5 - 10 months old during the cold months. He is on the bigger end, wearing 6mo clothes, but his foot is already measuring 4.5in which puts him almost out of infant sizes already. It's looking like I should order 12-24m socks, but can that be right? Help this FTM, please!
