With my last pregnancy I was measuring 2 weeks behind - that was an obvious problem.

With my current pregnancy, at the 7 week scan I was measuring 4 days behind and had a small bleed visible. By 10 weeks I had measured right on time and that has continued now at 14 weeks.

Fingers crossed and all the best of luck to you :goodluck:

A heartbeat is a very good sign!

I was about a week behind on early ultrasounds. The doctor was concerned and made me come in for a repeat a week later. I wasn't tracking, but from the timing, I must have ovulated really late that time. Hopefully that's the reason for you too!

My OB says there's generally a range the ultrasound can be off about four days. I don't think your measurements sound bad!

At my first ultrasound I measured 4 days behind. 6w5d vs. 6w1d. My tech or doctor weren't concerned at all and said it's fairly normal at the beginning stages. Currently 26 weeks pregnant!

I was 5 days off on the first ultrasound, and I'm nursing that baby now :) they are such tiny measurements , it's hard to be exact!

Also, the baby's position can make it hard for the practitioner to get accurate measurements for tiny beans!

We're all rooting for you!

With my first LO, I had an ultrasound at 6w4d and he measured 6w1d. I was confident of my dates because I was temping/using OPKs and I got a BFP at 9dpo (pretty much impossible if it had been at 6dpo). I was super nervous because of a prior miscarriage, but I had another ultrasound 2 weeks later, and he had caught up and was actually measuring ahead.

2-3 days is nothing to be worried about most of the time because they are so tiny at that point. I'm sure it's scary with the bleeding, though. Hope everything turns out okay

@2PeasinaPod: thanks. Sorry about your experiences :(
@Truth Bombs: thank you
@sometimesshesings: that makes me feel better. DD measured a little small in my third trimester, but I didn't have issues this early.

@travellingbee: thank you!! I didn't think a couple of days was a big deal, but the tech kept asking if I was sure my dates couldn't have been a few more days behind and telling me I need to talk to my dr abt next steps. I guess perhaps there is more concern due to the early bleedong?

My son (now 2.5) measured a week behind in the first few months. In the last trimester he measured large, and indeed, he was born a week ahead of my EDD. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant. At my 7 week ultrasound, this baby was also measuring a week behind. I'll see if s/he has caught up at my next ultrasound in a few days. But my last experience has helped me worry less and realize that the numbers are just averages. My doctor hasn't worried about it, but I can understand them wanting to be cautious, too.

If you are confident of your O date, then measuring 2 days behind wouldn't worry me too much, especially since you saw a heartbeat. But unfortunately there is really just no way to be sure other than waiting and continuing to see how things progress (beta testing and follow up ultrasounds).

Unfortunately, my similar experiences haven't ended well.

Hoping and praying that your little bean gets stronger every day and everything looks good on your next scan.

So you think based on O date that you're only 2-3 days off on the ultrasound? That's fairly normal. I think I was 6w3 days but measured 6 weeks even. Baby is now ahead at 9 weeks.

I had an early ultrasound today due to bleeding a couple weeks ago. According to lmp, I'm 6w5d, but I think I'm 6w1d (opk, tracking cm). I measured at 5w6d with a flicker of a heartbeat though. The tech seemed concerned and said I would probably need more bloodwork or a followup ultrasound. I'm still waiting to hear back from my dr.

Any similar experiences??
