@regberadaisy: this was a year and a half ago but I bought tubing that wasn't Medela brand. It was exactly the same as my Medela ones

@regberadaisy: I just bought from Maymom on Amazon (flanges and symphony tubing). I was nervous but the quality is excellent.

@LuLu Mom: @yellowbird: @Freckles: have you bought replacement tubes before? The ones I'm seeing in Amazon are made by May Mom?! When I bought replacements for my Ameda they were all in Ameda packaging.

New tubing is cheap, but you can also clean and sterilize the tubing. MrsBee had talked about it in an old pumping guide blog post.

I doubt insurance will replace, but luckily new tubbing is pretty cheap! I would rather toss and replace than risk mold.

@regberadaisy: ah, I see then I think you just need to get new tubing. I sort of doubt insurance will cover it, but it's not expensive to replace. You can always try and see if it goes back, but once you've lost full suction I think the pump won't work as well.

@Little Misters Mom: I can see that milk got in between though so I'm afraid of mold forming.

I usually clean the tubing with the connector still attached. I just run warm water through it (you have to hold it under the faucet at the right angle) and then do the lasso thing and run it on the pump on high to dry.

For those that have a Medela. Any luck removing the tubing to clean and putting it back together? I got milk in the tubing and need to clean it. But the end piece that goes into the flange is so tight I don't see how I can get it back into the tubing.

Will they replace it for free?
