We've taken Zuma several times and she was fine. She's never tried to grab any of the stuff and was content being fed. Several times they have brought out like a plate of sliced bananas and bread just for her at the beginning.

I'd skip it just because, as others have said, I wouldn't take my kid to a fancy restaurant. If I'm paying real money for food, I want to sit back and enjoy it, not feel rushed or concerned with entertaining her.

I've never eaten there, but I have eaten my fair share of fondue with my husband's family, and there are always kids involved, so maybe just limit it to the cheese kind, instead of the chinoise style? What about it takes so long? Now I want to go to check it out!

I'd be worried about LO getting burned. Way too tempting with little hands around open hot oil and all those little forks not to mention raw meat. Just seems dangerous.

I've gone there in a bit of a rush and just told the waiter and he sped everything up! Doable, but not as nice as adults only!

Too long, too annoying trying to keep his hands out of stuff. I'd save this one for a night with a babysitter.

Ugh. I always forget just how long it takes to eat there... We need local family to babysit!

I wouldn't-- too much super hot stuff to burn herself on, and dinners there are so long *I* get bored.

I was JUST thinking about melting pot with my kids and p.
Decided against it though. The kids + hot cheese/broth/dessert and skewers doesn't sound like a fun, relaxing dinner. .
:P

I guess it depends on how well-behaved your LO is in public/at restaurants. Mine is pretty good at restaurants, but I wouldn't take her to the Melting Pot because after about 30-45 minutes she starts getting antsy. If I'm going to spend that much on a meal I want to be able to relax and enjoy it.

Oh man. The only time I've been there, dinner took at least two hours. It was so long. And I think I'd constantly have to try to keep my sons hands out of the pot. It's doable but may be annoying.

Would you do it? That's a long dinner! Our reservation is early - 4pm so we hopefully don't run into any lovebirds.

We do not do phones at the table but maybe if she decides it's time to leave, we could make an exception this time?
